Portable torpedo heater to paint garage interior

You may get the interior up to 50 degrees or better but I doubt if the block surface will get warm enough.

picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Please explain. I keep hearing this argument against conventional water heaters used in radiant heat applications. It seems to me that returning loop temps are generally warmer than incoming water temps in a water heater used for domestic water heating. Not sure about city water, but my well...

    radiant heat Zoning options?

It is an AO Smith powervent water heater. It is expressly approved for combination water heating, meaning space heating and domestic hot water. From what I can interpret from the literature, it isn’t expressly approved for space heating only. My system is what would be called an open system. My...

    radiant heat Zoning options?

I have a 3600 sq ft shop with two zones. I have two grundfus pumps with a taco two zone controller with an air temp thermostat I use a 75 gallon 75k btu commercial water heater. I have been up and running for a month and it has ran flawlessly. The taco controller will prioritize zones if wanted.

    Thermostat setting for Hydronic Heating

All setting the thermostat higher will do is increase the temp in the room. Sounds like your system is working as it should. The radiant slab cools off very slowly and also heats up slowly, mine heats up about a degree per hour. The temp of the slab is only a few degrees warmer than the air...

Spray bar advice for those with tractors, yard sprayers

No different than a spray bar. Once you know your application rate, you can vary the dilution rate of what you are applying. I have used this nozzle for many years and it has served me well.

Pros and Cons of floor radiant heat

To the OP, I have had my radiant floor heat up and running for a month now. I cannot adequately express how much I am impressed with it. All I can say is that it is a very comfortable heat. It will be awhile before I will have operating costs, but it does not run very often and we have had temps...

Pros and Cons of floor radiant heat

I respectfully disagree, I have in floor radiant heat. I keep it at 62 degrees, controlled by a thermostat located 5ft off the floor. When the thermostat shows 62*, the floor surface temp is 1-2* warmer and the ceiling (10’ ceilings) temp is 1-2* cooler. Cheers Steve

Garage fire rebuild and insurance co woes

Shop/barn fire several years ago. Cause: spontaneous combustion from storing combustibles in a wooden cabinet. According to the fire marshall, apparently something leaked and combined with the cellulose in the wood and caught fire. Don’t use wooden cabinets to store combustables!!! To the OP...

picts of your in-floor heat set ups.

Here’s my recently installed system. I used both pex and copper for several reasons. Copper is more expensive than pex. Copper assemblies are more rigid than pex, so less support is needed. When using pex, careful planning is needed so you have access to the clamp rings with the crimping tool...

    Ben Wil two post mod

NO, you are not!!! As an ME myself, I can say that this is really a BAD idea! Although your intentions were good, you have inadvertently put a tremendous amount of stress on that hinge point. Yes, bolting on that bar will probably prevent it from failing, but what have you gained?

    Well help

Removing the plug will do you no good. That is the drop pipe going to the pump. The small hole with the rope is the only access you have to the well itself. Agree with others, no need to bleach unless you have a bacteria problem. Test first.

    Remote Hose Connection

For his reason, some jurisdictions do not allow visible non-operable fire hydrants that look like city hydrants.

Decent interior door HINGES? Also, custom doors from where?

I also have a house that was built in 1953. The original hinges were Stanley and still in good condition. I found matching hinges on eBay when I did some remodeling. Try local auction houses and salvage companies for the doors and hinges.

    Help selecting a table saw

Correct. About 20 or so years ago, delta made a 10” cabinet saw which was sorta a cross between the contractors saw and a unisaw. I believe it was 2 hp and was a tilting arbor design. It is no longer made but similar “ hybrid” saws are made today.

    BendPak Problem

I just went out to the shop and looked at my lift (same model) and the ONLY way that I can see this bending has to be related to the ramps. Possibly they are catching under hinges and bending the flange upward when the lift is lowered to the floor?
