Tools You Wish You’d Bought In the Past

Garage sales boys. Especially for the vices. You have to ask sometimes; the older men/widows can't move them and are glad for them to leave.

Torx Screwdrivers - PB Swiss or Snap On

I hope that there is a special corner in hell for whoever decided the world needed torx, pushing all of us to buy yet another set of screwdrivers.

My Late Father and Metric Tools

Man I'd pay $10 to hear that story. God bless your grandpa. Mine was a medic in the army. Bronze star. He sort of saw the path that the Germans had used to lay mines in a field and was able to take a Jeep out there and rescue a bunch of guys from his unit who were injured that the Nazis were...

    John Deere wrenches rust removal

John Deere. I don't know how it is on either coast but in the Midwest there are legions of collectors of old tractor stuff. I almost ran out of gas in rural Iowa last Summer and had to tour some rural roads to find fuel. Nearly every home had an antique tractor on display in the yard, has a...

Project Farm ratchet comparison - Icon/Snap-On/Tekton etc

I still have a set of the old stainless Craftsman ratchets. I work on Japanese motorcycles for the most part and typically I only use 1/4 drive stuff until the torque wrench comes out.

I'm not ashamed to say that I have called snappy for warranty stuff and when asked if I am the original owner I say that I am.

Has anyone seen a tool truck recently? - August 2022.

We have a nuclear power plant nearby so the Snappy truck was going in there quite often. The owner/driver got a DUI in June and lost his nuclear clearance. BAD.

I find it hard to believe that VHS will ever make a comeback but who knows. Once you have seen TV in HD there is no going back I'm afraid.

Things that go out of date because of technology get tossed , then years later people want the "old"

<<When old stuff becomes valuable as a result of nostalgia, sometimes it's better to cash that in and choose a similar modern option instead. >> I'll keep my RZ350 for now.

Things that go out of date because of technology get tossed , then years later people want the "old"

EGA in a motorcycle shop. A lot of dealerships will no longer work on carbed bikes or ATVs.

Project Farm Floor Jack comparison - Mighty Snap-On vs Harbor Freight

This thread is like a 1970s mini-series saga. FLOOR JACKS by James Michner. Starring Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward.

New to me Huot top box in the garage

I gave it some attention. It's a great box unless you have to use it. Cleaned up the exterior and two drawers. I left one side "original" as to how I got it.

New to me Huot top box in the garage

Well, that two drawers fell out of it helped getting to the rails. I was able to use my snap on shim tool to get one of the rails off a drawer. Looks like the majority of the slides for the larger bottom drawers are bent or worse. I have one of the rails off and washed up. Where's this print...
