Looks awesome. The time to do my floor is coming soon. Still cannot decide whether to do the tile or epoxy route. What was the cost/source of tile might I ask? What kind or grout did you use?
From the comments on here and elsewhere I do not believe this will be the answer I am looking for and though I got a good deal, it is still a lot of money for minimal improvement in comfort.
A window unit is not feasible and a mini split is too expensive for my budget at this time so I will...
I have started redoing my garage to make it more functional for me as well as making it look nicer as well. One problem is that during the summer here it is in the 90s or 100s most everyday and fairly humid as well. I work out there when I can which is about 30min to an hour at a time at 10 at...
My first bathroom I used plastic sheeting. Next time I plan to use Laticrete Hydroban. Kerdi is good but has a bit of a learning curve and as I will rarely do this, the hydroban seems an easier choice for an ameteur homeowner.
Scotty,
Metallic epoxy with a urethane top coat is at the top of my list for my floor. May I ask when you say working mans do you mean daily use or would it be alright for a weekend warrior?
Thanks
With that one you have to use a leaf blower or flick/spray acetone in lieu of the other stuff you flick with the metallix. So you can't get the two tone effect if that is your thing. The metal fusion has some cool colors that I like. More options is better.
I have been to S&S once and it was alright but quite expensive for what you got (had fillets). Texas Roadhouse has just as good if not better food at a better price. It has a vey different type of atmosphere that can get annoying though.
Do you have a dehumidifier you can put out there?
I want to put down epoxy this 4th of July or Labor day long weekend this year. Temperatures are typically 100+. Humidity is usually around 50% in the day but as it cools at night it shoots up to 80-90%.
I use the exact same ramps for my Sky.
My Camaro is too lowered to be able to use them and my floor jacks cannot get under the pumpkin or the engine crossmember without having to drive it up on makeshift wooden ramps. It's quite a pain if I have to get all 4 wheels off the ground on it. I...
That looks really good Doc. I want to go with metallix for my floor but I cannot decide which color combination to go with. I had not seen that one before. Looks great.
I would not bother with the extra plywood either but you may want to add more screws to your 1" subfloor. I would put a sheet of thin plastic between the plywood and your backerboard (1 mil) to make it easier to remove when the time comes and also to prevent the wood from absorbing all the...
