    New Garage Slab isnt level.

Unless you go high dollar and have everything laser shot and leveled, you get what everyone else gets. But the worst thing you could do is put your bottom plate on a slab. Just asking for trouble doing that and good luck finishing it off if you ever want to wash out your garage.

Retaining wall with large trees nearby

If it were me, and the retaining wall is important, get the tree out of there. We cut down a Sunset Locust last Fall and I now have shoots coming up 30' away from the roots.

    Toilet offset? Only 11-1/2"! D'Oh!

If the lid is the problem, but the back flange of the lid off. Or make a new flanged lid out of diamond plate and decorate the bathroom with car related stuff so everything blends together.

What to cover the ceiling with?

You didn't say how big your garage is, but if money is tight right now, put up a drywall ceiling then insulate the ceiling next year. You'd be surprised how warmer things will be with just a ceiling. Then you could always blow in, or drop batts in later on. I would get the walls insulated though...

    Propane for an outbuilding?

For a garage, I wouldn't put in a propane fireplace. They are more for looks. Get a good overhead propane furnace that has a blower on it. I have a 2016 sq.ft. garage that I can close half of it off. I run (2) 120 gallon propane tanks that are piggybacked together. I'll fill them in the Fall...

Horrific new slab pour, PROPER corrective action advise needed!

Check with Jack Olsen on Garage Journal and look at his tiled floor in his garage. He has done tons of work in his garage on the tiles. Dropped stuff, rolling jacks across the floor, and the list goes on.

Build a new door frame or buy it?

I'd just get a new prehung door and install it, and call it a day. Measure your door size and get the prehung that is the same size. Once installed, all you have to do is finish off the inside trim work.

    leaf blower

I had a John Deere leafblower. Worst one I have ever owned. Lasted maybe 5 years before it got chucked in the trash. It got to the point that it wouldn't run consistent. You'd have to keep playing with the throttle just to keep it running. Non serviceable. And a new carb for it was $189. I only...

Mounting an air compressor 18" from all walls?

Mines away from the wall but no where near 18". I'm guessing 10-12". And don't bolt it to the floor. Set it on some rubber pads. I move mine out of the way every once in a while so I can clean the dust and dirt out of the corner.

    Fero Air Pump Co

When I cleaned out my dads house to be sold, I left one identical to that in the basement. Dad got it from his neighbor who ran the local Gulf Bulk Oil station. I think I was maybe 5 years old at the time. Dad and I painted hundreds of cars and ran a lot of air tools with that over the years...

Vintage Xcelite or other Nut Driver Sets

We used Xcelite at work for years. I hated those things because of the smell. My bench buddy would open his toolbox and it stunk to high heaven. My wife still has quite a few from her work in another area, and she can keep them in her toolbox because they still stink. I do like their...

Garage door install - 2x4 wall on block

You should be good to go once you finish off the rough opening. You'll have to add finishing boards down the sides to the floor level. I would do this with PVC trim to eliminate water damage of using standard lumber. Then once your door is mounted, you'll add your door seals around on top of...

    Another Interlocking Floor Tile Review

RaceDeck is owned by Jorgen Moller who owns Snaplock. And when you do a search for the other two brands......it comes to Garage Floorings but nothing about the factory. So go figure that the other two are most likely made in the same place but distributed under different names. Can't get it...

    Stagnant water under floor tiles

Water trapped in the corner of a garage normally gets swept out and allowed to dry. With tiles, you are going to have airflow blocked by the tiles by a major percentage, especially when the doors are shut in the colder days. So how is airflow going to flow under the tiles? I'm just asking...
