    Hvac dont close that door

When I moved in my house, I installed a central HVAC (heat pump) including the ducts. I installed one main return duct. I undercut every interior door 3/4".

Anyone rebuild their own brake calipers?

I did on my Dodge recently. Actually easy to do. Place a stop in front of the pistons and hit it with compressed air, pistons fly out. One seal and one boot. This boot has a flange on it that presses in place. I cleaned everything, made sure the bore didn't have pits, put the new seals in the...

    Dowel or expansion joint

Over the years, design engineers have spec'd different types of "doweling". In addition to what has been said, CC mentioned smooth and greased. There has been plastic caps with foam inserts in the bottom so there is room at the end of the bar for movement. There is also a "system" where a rebar...

    Hanging Heater Installation

I installed one in a greenhouse, but it sure wasn't 24' off the floor. It was one the "Hot Dog" models your link shows. They are pretty much plug and play, power, gas and a control.

    Flat Free tires went flat

I bought a wheel barrow from Lowes, a double wheel model so my wife could use it (that was wishful thinking). Had stickers on both sides of the tub "FLAT FREE TIRES". Both of them went flat, not all the way flat, but certainly enough where it was difficult to roll. I put air in them via the...

    Best Brake Caliper lube

I did clean the bracket surfaces with a wire brash so no scale was left. As far as the ears of the pad, when they won't fit over the bracket/clips, you have to do something. The paint was definitely thick on the inside, plus it was obvious these metal plates were punched, not cut, nothing...

    Best Brake Caliper lube

On my Dodge truck, it's been notorious for the calipers freezing up. What seems to be the culprit is it has metal (stainless) clips that fit on the caliper bracket and the pad ends fit on these clips. I know the pads themselves don't move much, but they need to move as they wear. The caliper has...

Tiny leak from valve core on low pressure service port on new mini split?

This might sound dumb, but are the port caps the brass ones with the gasket in it? If not, that might be enough to hold the leak. Lot of techs immediately toss plasic caps and put the brass ones on.
