    Ryobi tool fest

As noted, the backward compatibility of their batteries is great. Ive been given old blue ryobi stuff and it works with my new batteries. Wish more companies did this. For my homeowner needs they've proven to be a worthwhile investment.

    Heating up the garage?

Was using one of these over the weekend to heat the garage space at my rental. Had the double bay garage door open roughly 3 feet high and still found myself suffering from the effects of CO. Immediately **** everything down, door fully opened and I went inside to allow it air out. Gave me a...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

new valve cover installed on the passenger side to stop a spark plug tube leak. couldn't figure out where the oil was going with no signs of leak or spots underneath. a royal PITA, but it's done thankfully. Surprisingly the whole job required only a flat head, a p2, a 10mm socket, 4, 6, & 8...

cordless tools set recommendation - drill, impact driver, oscillating tool?

It is a terrific time of year to be looking. Father's Day too, but I'd recommend taking a ride to your local stores and go checking out the deals. You will likely find a kit with all the "fixins" you're looking for. +1 on the Ryobi stuff, for the mentioned swap ability of the batteries...

Tools you have absurd numbers of

A cousin has an 18 wheeler full of jacks. Hundreds of them spanning likely 100+ years of technological advancements. I need to get photographs and some video the next time I visit. It was astonishing seeing so many different types in one place. Jacks for cars to buildings and much more in...

    Limited Edition Tools

I've seen this on craigslist as well. Years ago I snagged a dale jr box combo from a reasonable guy, $300 bucks. he told me he saved it out of a dumpster from a house he was doing the tile work on that had a bunch of other contractors doing a gut job after the homeowner died and the son sold...

Armstrong 60 Tooth Locking Flex Handle and the Guy Who Made It at Danaher, Springfield MA

Very cool reading that story. As a local to that area myself, this was really neat and fun reading. Was hanging in Hampden today! I'll have to start keeping my eyes peeled for one of these at tag sales in the area. There is a lot of history in Springfield, MA making tools. Moore Drop...
