    Manual Transfer switch?

I'd back feed into the panel but if you only have 1 open slot I don't know how you'd get 240 without two slots. Most everything you said should be 120 except for the range which most are 30-50amps so your genny might be a little under sized. Brett

We have a 12kw welder/generator that we use for power when storms come thru. We were having to back feed into the 30amp dryer plug which was no fun and not giving us the power we had available. So...we installed this 50amp plug in the shop that'll feed the main panel in the house. Turn off the...

Symmetric vs asymmetric only talks about the lift arms from what I've learned. Symmetric are equal length on the front arms and the rear arms. Asymmetrical the front arms are shorter and the rear arms are longer. I think your talking about the floor plate vs the overhead which would have the...

I'm going through this right now. I initially wanted a 4 post. Then thought about having to rotate tires or do a lift on any of our trucks and that would require a scissor lift on rails or a metal tray for jacks. For me it would be added cost or more complexity. Then I started studying up on a...

My building was completed June 30th or close and the way it's situated, the morning sun hits the front gable extension and then the rest of the sun hammers the roof the rest of the day. The walls that are exposed have the lean-to covering them. Depending how things go, I might frame it out and...

I have some foil insulation in my conex but it really isn't bad in there to justify the work right now. Keeping heat in during winter might be a bigger reason to do something. We do have the roof insulated. The trusses are exposed, nothing for the ceiling. With the 30" fan we got its working out...

I didn't realize we had such a large number of members within a 20 min drive from each other. Maybe we need to get a group together in the future. Brett

We are using the shop for the start of our home gym. It's amazing how fast you can drop a couple thousand on weights and equipment but so far everyday I've been home my wife and I have spent about 2 hrs getting the swell on. Definitely glad we went with the size we did and started looking at...

    2 Post 10K Lift Comparisons

If it ever happens again, take the cylinder to a hydraulic shop and have them rebuild it. If you can do it, you can disassemble and take the seals to be matched up for cheap. Just depends on your tools and willingness to do it. They are very simple. Brett

    Sam's LED's how to wire

I hung 18 lights and wired 40 plugs in my shop in less than two days. 52x84 under roof and 40x60x15 enclosed. Most of that was working off the loader of my tractor. I think I got to where I was talking about 3 mins per outlet. Doesn't take much time and is a nice clean install. My shop is a pole...

    Sam's LED's how to wire

I installed a 2 outlet plug for each light. I think it was a total of 18 plugs. Also allows me to add more easily when needed or quickly swap out any that have failed. Didn't see the need to hardwire and cut up a good cord for no gain Brett

Pole Barn Build 40x80x16 - Ft Worth area

My building only has insulation on the roof but has 3 12x12 and 2 10x10 doors when all the doors are open, it's comfortable all day long. Really couldn't justify cooling mine and since I don't get much side sun exposure it's fine. I'm northwest of Houston 75 miles or so, so you know it's nice...

Pole Barn Build 40x80x16 - Ft Worth area

I wouldn't pay more than $100 per guy extra at most. They roll it across the roof and slap nail it down before covering it with the metal. Adds maybe 1-2 hrs to a shop the size of yours for the roof Brett

Pole Barn Build 40x80x16 - Ft Worth area

Is the builder the same guy as the one erecting it? 3800 seems very high for that bubble wrap to me. Maybe you could supply it and pay the erection crew a little to install it. Very easy to do. Worst case just do the roof and add batt or something else lasted down the road. Brett

    30x40 pole barn

He's out of LA. If they come that way for a job I'm sure they would love to help out but it's a haul just to finish some odds and ends. These are the reasons I wanted to start a pole barn building. To many good people getting taken advantage of or over charging Brett
