    The GJ Sticker/Swag swap

Don, Per your suggestion, I've removed the "swag," leaving only the stickers and got it all into a large USPS priority box. It's packed, sealed, stamped and scheduled for pickup with our normal mail delivery Monday morning. I will PM you the tracking number. Ray

    The GJ Sticker/Swag swap

Checked with several other shippers, including a number of "discount" shippers. All are quoting $50 (+/- $5) This is due to the size of the box (now repacked into a smaller 15x12x9 box) weight (13.48-lbs) and distance to be shipped (2357-miles) If no one minds, I will edit the contents down...

    The GJ Sticker/Swag swap

Not yet. I was quoted $50 for shipping (apparently there is a surcharge for shipping to his address.). I’m going to repackage and try again. I’ve been in contact with him by PM and let him him know. Hope to get it out by Friday.

    Bearing separator and puller set?

How often will you need it? I usually take advantage of the local auto-parts store "loan-a-tool" program when needed. Ray

    Police lightbar Wiring In Garage

I have a 1954 F-100 front end complete with lights hanging on the wall off the garage. Just wired a 12-volt landscaping light transformer to the wires. It’s plugged into a switched outlet and takes 45-seconds or so to turn on (has to sense darkness for a short time) but it’s been working for...

How to Clean decades of paint off a stainless bench top?

I would find a place that does soda or dry ice blasting and just have the whole thing cleaned. The baking soda or dry ice won't create enough heat to distort the metal and will leave you with a nice clean finish. Ray

If you had $4,500 to spend, what would you do?

About $3500 would clear the last of my credit card debt. The rest would by a very nice wood lathe.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Starting New 34' X 44' Shop Central Valley California

Yeah, make sure that you insulate well then. Add a few ceiling fans (or just use a "Big *** Fan" for air circulation. Are you thinking about a HVAC system? Look into mini-splits especially if you plan on sub-dividing the space (maybe a small "clean" or "dirty" room for specialty work. Good...

Is it possible to straighten a bent magnesium circular saw shoe?

I did a Google search and it appears that DeWalt used the same base. Might want to add DeWalt to the data search base as well. Ray

    Another lumber post....[emoji6]

We had a 6x6 shed installed a few months ago (got a good deal as we had ordered it last year.) I went out yesterday to buy an 4x8 sheet of ply or osb for shelving and was shocked at the prices. Construction grade 3/4 plywood was over $90 a sheet and osb was a bit higher. I ended up with a...

Any photos of tools/work areas from 60s SR-71 program?

Here's a shot of the entrance to the San Diego Air & Space Museum. In addition the SR-71 out front, they have an engine and some other parts in the basement (they have basement tours if you call ahead.) There are a TON of interesting things in the basement. One day they took delivery of 4...

Generator - Way way too many options to choose from, please help

We had Generac out for an estimate. Between permits, the cost of the unit and issues relating to where they wanted to place the unit we could buy several Honda type generators. So, we bought a unit just to power what we need and a spider box to divide the power. Haven't had to use it...

Any photos of tools/work areas from 60s SR-71 program?

Any ideas how to keep this from happening?

Added a cyclone dust separator to my collection system. Using a 15-gallon barrel and it was working great for 30-minutes or so. Switched the system off to add a vacuum attachment to clean the floor and the barrel collapsed. Anyone know how to keep this from occurring? No obstructions in the...

    Gas Station as a garage

Kind of along the same line if thought. I would love to buy an old fire station for a live in garage/home space. Like in "Spencer for Hire". I'll now return you to your regularly scheduled topic. Ray Sent from my LM-X220PM using The Garage Journal mobile app
