    Bahco Milwaukee Portaband Blades

Mine showed up after about a week. Maybe they just had a few and didn't bother to load the quantity field on the site. In any event they appear to be genuine Bahco and for what I paid, I'm pretty happy with them.

lowe's / kobalt tools NO warranty, buyer beware...

The correct process is insist to talk withe store general manager. Not the head cashier, department manager, MOD or whatever. Make it clear that you want to talk to the guy whose name is on the wall and no one else. They'll always accommodate you then, because that guy doesn't want to be...

    $323.48 ship'd RapidAir MaxLine 3/4in., 300ft. Master Kit M7580

This is good if you need more than 200 ft of line. Otherwise two of the 100ft kits costs the same and gives double the outlets and fittings

Old Snap On box, to restore or not to restore?

X2 on this. The Body shop teacher at our local Vo - Tech is a friend. He is always looking for good painting projects for the kids, because there are never enough cars to practice painting. I have seen them do mailboxes, ornamental iron work, even some newspaper vending boxes.

    Buying steel in NJ

I'm not familiar with that part of NJ, I'm much further south, but Fazzios has several sites. It might be worth looking at their site for a closer one. The ARE huge, and while not always the cheapest, I have never gone there and not gotten what I needed.

    ATV Firewood cutting Deck

no, i was thinking of something more like this http://s220.photobucket.com/user/3woodsaws/media/cut45-1.jpg.html It doesn't eliminate bending, but it reduces it considerably. When I was much younger my father and I would routinely cut 10 cords a day using a saw pretty similar to this.

A bow shaped bar with heel on your chainsaw solves this problem with a whole lot less work and expense.

    building a 60" x 24" workbench

Pocket screws in softwood are not going to stand up. I have a mobile bench that I build using the simpson brackets for the same types of uses you mention and it works great. Added bonus it went together really fast. You should be able to build the whole thing in an hour or so.

Thinning latex with windsheld washer fluid?

Model railroaders have been thinning acrylic paint with Windex for years. It works great. You can also use denatured alcohol in place of water. It thins a little better and flashes off a little faster.

    Bonding Aluminum to Aluminum With...?

Does it need to be pretty or just stick together? The correct answer of course is to weld Panel bond is the next best thing but as you've discovered, it is expensive. Not just the epoxy but tghe gun is quite expensive too. I've seen body guys use liquid nails in place of panel bond in lower...

    Service for new shop building

I'm not an electrician. The electrician who wired my shop installed a trough under my meter and split the line exiting the meter. One side goes to the panel in the house, the other to the barn. The barn has typical panel with ground rods. I have 200A to the house, 150A to the barn. Both the...

Wiring in same wall as Flue Pipe

Thanks @rlitman that was sort of what I assumed, I just wanted to run it past some others. I will be using a thimble and the wiring is several feet away. The thimble will be ~30" from the floor, I kept all of the wiring 10' above the floor in this area. Plenty of seperation Thanks

Wiring in same wall as Flue Pipe

I have a new construction pole barn and have begun wiring. The Panel is in one corner, and I've run wiring to the furthest wall. I'm now doing the back wall which leads to my question. I intend to install a pellet stove this fall. In order for me to add outlets along the portion of the wall...

Which do you prefer attached or detached garage

Depends on your needs. Detached is better if it s a work space, for the reasons burger noted, it isolates noises and smells. Attached, OTOH is better if your primary use is parking. Its much less pleasant to have to walk outside in the rain, snow or sleet, just to get into the warm dry garage...

    pole barn shop quote, YIKES!!!

They did detail that. I don't have it handy, but my memory is that the floor was about 6500 of the total cost. That was using the builders sub. I did quote the concrete separately and was not able to beat their price.
