    Oscillating multitool recommendation

I just bought a 3 pack of those for $40! They are $20 in individual packs. They certainly aren't cheap, but I have plaster and lath walls with a sh*t ton of nails! They are always the best blade for the job.

Floor jack handle as for leverage with breaker bar?

And apparently Toyota Tundras! I don't do this as much anymore now that I have access to better tools, but it was effective at the time.

Hillside detached garage in PA - moisture barrier suggestions?

I responded to your PM, but for some reason it doesn't seem to be going through. So anyway, here it is.... I'll be doing the work myself, and installing the dimpled barrier over a waterproofing membrane or water resistant type roll on tar like you already have. I like the barrier I...

Floor jack handle as for leverage with breaker bar?

 No biggie, I used a jack handle once with a ratchet and wedged it against the frame rail of my truck, then bumped the starter to break the crank bolt loose. I'm still alive! :badteeth:

    Oscillating multitool recommendation

It's pretty much all been covered already. If you plan to use it a lot, any higher end brand is probably your better choice. I bought the $15 one from Harbor Freight and have used it plenty over the past year on our home renovations. The switch is stiff and *****, but it works perfectly when I...

    HF Magnetic Strip Tool holder

I only have one, but I do use it often. I have it mounted above my workbench, integrated between some pegboard and a window. It is really useful for quick reach tools. I tend to leave at least one set of needle nose, dikes, and a measuring tape on it. And then whatever else I'm currently using...

Hillside detached garage in PA - moisture barrier suggestions?

My current garage is also block construction and I am having serious issues with moisture. When I get heavy rains, water literally flows across my floor. I'm about 4-5 feet below grade. From the little digging I've done so far the PO used only some cheap plastic as a barrier, and it clearly...

    New Homeowner / Garage build-out

That's fantastic. It gives me a little hope about doing my 20x20 in a similar fashion! I really just want enough space to put a 4 post dead smack in the middle of the garage to store my GTO and still have lots of room to work and park the DD. :rocker:

    New Homeowner / Garage build-out

That is exactly what I want to do to my garage roof! It's 15' to peak, but interior height from floor to joist is less than 8' and I have attic trusses. I'm surprised you were able to do this though without a large ridge beam down the center. Is it because you'r a block wall? My garage is also...

Found a deal on craigslist? - List Here!

I caved and bought everything! The drill press needs a little love, new switch and power cord, but it's otherwise in nice shape so I'll keep that. But I don't need the other stuff. I'll probably just clean up them and sell them off quickly and hopefully make money on the deal! He even threw in...

Found a deal on craigslist? - List Here!

Time to Buy & Mount a Vise - looking for insight

I recently bought a Wilton 5" Mechanics Vise. It is an imported one, so not very desirable, but I was able to buy it brand new in box for $75 (list is $228). It has pipe jaws and 3 3/4" throat opening. I was looking for a long time on Craigslist for a good older vise, but everyone wanted crazy...

    Ball Joint seperation

What he said. I recently did a rebuild on the entire front end of my Tundra, and the upper ball joints were original, so about 17 years old. The only thing that got them out were lots of heat from a Oxy/Act torch, and a press. I removed the entire spindle an a press made short work of it. I...

Whats a good air impact ?

Also, get yourself some good high flow couplers to get the most out of your tool. Harbor freight has a decent high flow set that I've noticed to help. Or you can spend more and get some higher quality Milton fittings...

Whats a good air impact ?

I just got the Aircat 1150 after using an old crappy craftsman impact for over a decade that always managed. I'm just a backyard mechanic so they don't get used professionally. The Aircat is very nice and way more torque than I am used to. It's comfortable, and much quieter as well. That was a...

    Benchmark Abrasives Flap Discs

Got mine the other day too. Certainly a nice addition to the garage. And their C.A.T (Cuts All Things) diamond demo blade should come in handy with the plaster and lath in my house.

    Dickies VS Carhartt outerwear

Carhartt. I have the jacket listed, and shown below. I probably bought it almost 10 years ago, and it's been great. It doesn't come with a hood, but has buttons on the underside of the collar to attach one for an additional 18 bucks. I much prefer the look, and feel to this one over the...

Found a deal on craigslist? - List Here!

Yeah those assortment of fittings might be very usable for somebody, but I have no idea what I could possibly use in there! The cabinet alone would be cool to have. Strip it, repaint it, maybe bend some of those drawer tabs back straight, and it would make a nice little parts cabinet.

    Deep Sockets?

Most times I find myself using them (I'm in the same "field" as you) is when I run across long studs on bolts. For instance, the T-bolts on my GTOs intercooler piping end up having lots of remaining thread as they get tight. Actually the V-band clamps on the hotside also have the same problem...
