I have a 10' ceiling height. I just put the heater onto my scaffolding with the support plank 8' ft. from the floor. Then just rolled it over to the corner. Put threaded rod into the ceiling joist, and then thru the heater flange. Then tightened up the nuts on the treaded rod enough to raise the...

Heater venting - pro help needed

I think they mean 5' min. vent. That's what my instructions say. But I didn't pay attention to that. I used b-vent double wall pipe thru a thimble. Total vent length is 2 1/2 '. And it ends 12" from the siding and I have mine 18" under the soffit. No problems at all with the soffit. Doesn't...

Anybody have advise on installing a wall thimble with vinyl siding?

I put my thimble up against both the inside wall and the outside OSB. Then I added a "vinyl block" to the cut out siding. The double wall vent pipe passes thru this and then I added a storm collar which seals the hole in the block. Sort of a double protection against water intrusion.

    Progress Pics And A Question

I'd rip out the old concrete back to the cut line. Looks like about 3 - 4 foot back. Then pour a new approach with a lot less steep of a rise. You'll never be happy with the way it is. Bite the bullet now!!!

What brand of garage doors from Home Depot?

Bob, No need for commercial doors. Just buy the door from Home Depot as long as it has a torsion spring setup. Go to overhead door company and buy 2 10' long pieces of track. Throw away the vertical piece of track from the HD door and use the new 10' piece you bought. Just cut it the length...

Mr Heater/Big Maxx Propane Install - Easy?

I'm near Peoria. Look in the yellow pages for plumbing suppliers. Most will sell to you on a cash sale. That's what I did and no problem. I did have a plumber do all the connections. I just did the trench with a trencher attachment on the skid steer. Also my local ACE hardware store here also...

Neighbor near did this to his garage. He put in a 10' walkout basement foundation. But on the main level he just ran joists and made it his shop. It is 5 cars wide and one big a$$ shop above it. From the front it looks like a one story building. Drive around back to access the garage.

Getting close to wiring up for the ceiling lights. Question is; can a 2' x 4' fluorescent light fixture made for drop in ceilings be installed between my 2' spaced trusses? I really like the clean look of a recessed light fixture like the dropped ceiling style. Just wondering if I can drywall...

    Roofing...any tips

Hire it out. 8/12 is pretty steep. And roofing in this heat is killer. My 26 x 34 roof only cost $450 for the single install including the ridge vent. And I bought a box of nails for his nailing gun. It was done in a day and I never lifted a single shingle. It was worth it to me.
