    wow thanks for sharing these, and I cant believe what that catalog sold for! i have some old kelly works and true temper catalogs and they also seem to sell quite high. I would love to find one of those wiltons from the 70's...... I will have to start watching ebay closer. Good luck I hope...

    1973 Wilton 9-600 Vise Restoration - 156lbs - 2’ long - 1’ tall

    The fasteners that hold the screws retainer plate on were seized and would not come out. All three sheared off, so I drilled them out and re tapped to the next size up. I picked up some new stainless Allen head screws.

    Today I wire wheeled and stripped the vise to bare iron and painted with a new rustoleum color - "metallic black stainless steel" I used a medium stiffness, wire cup wheel on an angle grinder to clean the entire surface. I also used various sizes of wire wheel attachments and sanding cylinders...

    This is my newest addition to the shop. I traveled 4 hours round trip to pick up this beauty and it was worth every minute of drive time. It’s a Wilton model 9-600. It weighs about 156 pounds with the swivel base. It’s 2 feet long and 1 foot tall. 6” Jaws I can’t find any damage and the jaws...

    Yes it is in very good condition. i actually paid 200 but traded for 100 of the price. That is definitely salvageable, but will require a lot of man hours to get it back in shape. Keep us posted on the progress! I think it is definitely worth your time, I love a challenging project like you...

    Drove 4 hours round trip to pick this up late this afternoon. 100$ and worth every hour of drive time. I have been looking for one of these for awhile now. It's got to be around 150 pounds it's a heavy one with 6" Jaws. Wilton 9-600
