    Tool Storage Foam

good call on using the hot wire- that foam is super dense and dulls a razor blade FAST. I shadowed a drawer of bucking bars in my vidmar at work with that foam using a utility knife- went through a few blades...it was tedious to say the least.

Danaher Corporation and Cooper Industries Announce Joint Venture of Tool Businesses

Thankfully, Cooper has managed not to destroy Dotco's drills and die grinders. Personally, I like the status quo of where Dotco is presently and do not want to see that change. American commercial aircraft production relies heavily on Dotco products!

    Torque wrench and an extension?

I'd love to get a look at the lab data myself, but I don't know who even has access. I just know the wobble plus style extentions I use make my life a lot easier. Plus, they don't go flaccid :wtf: like the universal type when you can only get one arm into a crevice to put a socket on something.

    Torque wrench and an extension?

For what it's worth, I do work on 747s and my employer agrees with you. My employer also says that for bolts less than 1" diameter, I can use (1) wobble extension or (1) ball/swivel adapter to apply torque so long as the deflection does not exceed 15 degrees. The universal "yoke-style" adapters...

    'Crescent' wrenches?

I will be making a trip down to ballard hardware as soon as I get a day off from work- surprised I hadn't heard of it before, since I'm native to the northwest, but better late than never. Thanks!!

    'Crescent' wrenches?

I agree that the slop on the cheaper imports is a problem, but i've not had the same problem with my channellocks. I'll go on the record saying the Irega made channellock wrenches are superior to Snap On's offerings. Flame on.

    'Crescent' wrenches?

I think of it this way- if you start an unfamiliar job and can't have your toolbox right next to you, a medium sized crescent wrench with a scale will save a few trips back to the tool box and eliminate guessing as to which size box-end, or flarenut, or crowfoot, or whatever wrench you really...

Show me a FULL SET of Hansen tray sockets

I still think the plastic clip rails with ball detents are best by far, plus you can get the Armstrong branded version from www.alexgs.com for way cheaper than sears and you have the choice of red or blue rails. I just ordered some of these: 10" blue rail- #16837 1/4" clips - #16844 3/8"...

    'Crescent' wrenches?

The Irega made channellock adjustable wrenches are amazing. The jaws are tough, shaped better than the competition, and the sae/metric scale feature on both sides of the jaw is infinitely useful. Do it!

    Tools for riveting

A P mech is right, your application and accessibility will determine the tools you will use to fasten everything. Can you go into more detail about what this project is? Also, could you give a reference to what you mean by "semi-tubular" rivets? the rivets I work with are primarily solid...

    Blackhawk stubbie reversable ratcheting wrenches

well, if you're talking about the 4 pc. 15 degree offset ones that pop up on ebay, then yeah, I have that and I'd put them on par with gearwrench- fit and finish is good, no problems i've experienced. :)

    Do You PlastiDip Your Handles?

looks like "whipping" the pliers instead of a rope. Thanks for the tip about hot water! :)

    Tap and Die Tips

another technique is to chuck the tap into a drill press and turn it by hand to keep it perpendicular as you start cutting threads oh, also, try not to be the guy turning the tap with a crescent wrench. good tap handles or tap wrenches will help a lot, though if you're just chasing threads to...

    Tool Storage Foam

My tool box at work is required to have all the tools shadowed and as much as it can be a pain, it is useful to be able to lock up at the end of shift and know for sure whether or not your "buddy" returned that tool they borrowed. The process my coworkers and I use goes like this- -cut out a...

    Proto on line

Alexandria general supply might be worth a shot- http://www.alexgs.com/_search.php?page=1&q=proto+3764t I haven't ordered from them, but the pricing is consistently lower than grainger. ...that being said it's easier to find stuff if you have a proto catalog to source product ID #s from. :)
