I thought the krsc416a would be an option because you can still use the top drawer and you still have a work table as opposite of the opening lid like the krsc46 ,i would really like to see one irl just to see the quality of the sliding lids

Did you ever try to put some magnetic tool holder on the lid ? I mean when its open , it add some more fast tool acces, I would use that cart as my main tool box, i work where mostly all superficial tool like tap and wrench after 1" 3/4 socket and alot snap on tool are avaible for every one...
