    New Mac Tools Worth Buying?

Only Mac stuff I have is their 'expert' brand super long dual box end wrenches. Those have been a lifesaver. They also are the only ones i've been able to find who sell weatherhead sockets (designed to fit around brass fittings for air lines and such, if you are working on that sorta thing). I...

How did you choose your "battery platform"?

I grew up around Dewalt, so that's what i've naturally leaned towards for home-side cordless. Professionally I have been using Snap-On. Word to the wise, Snap-On 14.4V stuff is outstanding. 18V? Not so much. My 18V 3/8" impact gun lost it's balls after 2 years of moderate use (just out of...

Help me choose a tool brand

As mentioned by others, don't worry about having all your tools be the same brand. Only exception being cordless power tools, simply due to battery interchangeability. Other than that, whichever you can get the best deal on. My personal tool list goes from super high end stuff like Snap-On...

Will have to take photos later, but grew up with yellow and black. Still building my non-mechanic tool inventory, so only have 20V Max 1/2" cordless drill, blower, and a grease gun. That grease gun has been something else. Used it all the time when I was a line and a field tech working on trucks...

    Gearwrench vs tekton?

When I was working on equipment out of a service truck, I used Matco ratchets and Genius sockets (Taiwan). Never had any issues with them. That said, if you're relying on the tools in the field, I would try to go with a reputable brand like Matco, Wright, Snap-On, etc... id tou can afford it...
