On Damand Water Heater or Tankless for handwash sink?

I've got that same unit in my garage. It's fine for washing your hands, rinsing out coffee cups, etc. I've never tried to fill a car wash bucket from it. I liked that I didn't need to run a 240v line to the sink, just a 20 amp 120v.

    Cleaning Racedeck

I'm interested in this thread as I'm making a fine mess on my new this summer RaceDeck. I'm changing the '46 MG from a 4 speed to a 5 speed ****** and even with cardboard down I've got slime all over the floor. Still looks good though!

Question for mini-split heat pump users

Thanks for all the input so far. Sounds like all the "internet special" units are basically the same. Mine doesn't have a freeze guard either. It's a pretty basic unit. Gets what you pay for, I guess. It isn't a Mr. Slim but it costs about a third too. I guess I'll need to get a month or...

Question for mini-split heat pump users

Got a question for those who have a mini-split heat pump in their garage. How low can you set the temperature? I bought a cheapy heat pump on the internet that works great for both heating and cooling. Just started to need heat and, unfortunately, I realized that I can only set the minimum...

    Converting Recessed Can to Fixture??

I'm not sure if you can remove all of the old can components but you could look at the devices meant to hang ceiling fans. It should be able to get it up through the hole and then expand the arms to grab the joists then use it to mount the new fixture. Does the new fixture come with some sort...

Any HVAC techs in Hickory/Lenoir,NC area?

That's what I always believed. This HVAC business is only the most recent. I went through the same "no call backs" for the insulation, the drywall, etc. The local unemployment rate high is sky high and people are crying for work but I guess they're all waiting for the big score. I guess it's...

Any HVAC techs in Hickory/Lenoir,NC area?

OK, I'm getting desperate here! I've self installed a mini-split heat pump in the detached garage and just need a tech with a vacuum pump to make the final connections and do a pump down. Are there any HVAC guys in the Hickory/ Lenoir, NC area that can do this job? I'm willing to pay whatever...

    Anyone seen this Racedeck problem?

Thanks Jorgen for the great support. I doubled checked today and it seems that there are 4 tiles total that have this problem. I don't know if they came from the same 2x2 tile. I had just ordered some more edge tiles before I noticed this so I'll give Kia a call when I get a chance. I'll try...

    Anyone seen this Racedeck problem?

I just finished putting down our Racedeck flooring and noticed a small issue with about 4 or 5 tiles. There seems to be a round yellowish "halo" of some kind of discoloration on a few of the alloy tiles. It seems to be a manufacturing issue in the plastic as the discoloration won't come off...

    Sheetrock around electrical panel

Thanks for the tips everyone. I ended up moving the panel myself once it was suggested and I saw how easy it was going to be. I just removed the two screws from each side and just walked the panel up flush with the drywall and replaced the screws. I had enough lack so it wasn't a problem...

    Sheetrock around electrical panel

I just noticed that our long gone electrican set the garage subpanel flush with the face of the stud wall. When the drywall hangers came to the panel all they could do was leave the drywall just short of the panel edges. If I install the panel front cover it's now 1/2" short of meeting the...

    Heat pump disconnect questions

Thanks, I realized after I pressed submit that running off one of the legs would probably not be allowed and probably not a good idea. I've got a 20 amp outlet circuit nearby that's already fed by a GFCI outlet. I can pigtail off of it to the outside. Can I feed a GFCI outlet in one of the...

    Heat pump disconnect questions

Thanks for the replies. Aceman: I didn't think of the GFCI outlet needed but I see that I do have one of the combined disconnect/GFCI boxes on the main house heat pump. I'll hit up the local electric supply as I can't find one on the big box web sites. Can I just run 12/3 with ground and...

    Heat pump disconnect questions

I just realized that we forgot to rough-in the electrical for a future mini-split HP in the garage. I need to get this done before insulating the walls. I've got no probblem running the 220 line but I'm unsure of how to install the outside disconnect box now that the vinyl siding is up. I'd...

    New concrete and RaceDeck/VCT

Hi all, When I had the garage floor poured I asked that they not use a sealer as I was thinking about epoxy. Now I'm thinking about RaceDeck or VCT. If I put down the RaceDeck should I seal the concrete first or just leave it alone? If I understand correctly, if I go with VCT I should leave...

    Mini splits

Can you truly install these yourself without the need for vacuum pumps, gauges, etc? The Ramsond site implies that you do not need anything other than hand tools that does not ship with the unit. Is this really true?

    RaceDeck Presidents Sale

Too bad I wasn't in a position to buy. The builder has just ordered the roof trusses for the main house and we haven't even started the detached garage where the RaceDeck will go. Can I hope for a July 4th sale? Please. Dave

    New concrete floor question

The contractor is getting ready to have the new construction basement floor and attached garage floor poured - probably next week. Is there anything we need to tell him to do or not to do if we plan to epoxy coat in the future? He did say that they put down a sealer. Will this interfere with...

Looking for Rotary SPOA7 lift information

Does anyone have the installation information for the SPOA7 lift? I'm specifically looking for a CAD drawing or template for the column base mounting. I have one of these lifts in storage in NH waiting for the new garage to be built in western NC but I don't have access to trace the base...
