I run one of these compressors for my simple shop air system (mainly just used for a lift, blower, and tire pumping). It's the 2.0 hp model to give a bit over 4 scfm continuously for faster refill. It's not obnoxiously loud, but it does still startle me when it turns on.

I'm dealing with the same issue. My lift goes up JUST too low to comfortably walk under, so I'm looking for a good tall stool that rolls. I ended up picking up a hydraulic drafting stool but the wheel base is a bit large.

I was pretty excited about this tool until all the discussion about disappointing torque output.

Did you swap the connections going into the pump itself (keeping the valve on the line with the "T")?

Are you running it without compressed air holding the safety locks disengaged? All I can think of is if you accidentally have the safety teeth engaged yet you try to force the lift down so it ***** the ram right out of the socket once it comes loose. Is that your primary or secondary lift...

Open the valve and hold the down button if you want to start over and let them slowly drain down. When using the lift normally, you keep the valve closed. Opening the valve is only for the purpose of leveling the lifts.

Wow, that thing is a clone! How much was it including shipping if you don't mind sharing? The PDF diagram is correct. The pump connection with the valve is the *return* line. The other non-valve line that goes first to the main lift is the pressurized side. Once all the air is out of the system...

Down with no vehicle load goes very slowly. On mine, it just let's the cylinders empty from the weight of the lift. You could try holding down while you add some weight to the lift that is up to help empty it out. Could you post pictures of your lifts, hydraulic connections, pump connections...
