    Tool selection help

See! I don’t know what your needs are but when I started I bought a 3/8 and 1/4 socket sets first with, I think 7 wrenches and 3-4 screwdrivers. I thought I was big time🤣. I could carry everything in a paper bag just about. I added the 1/2 drive later......along with a roller box, top box...

    Tool selection help

If you are looking online, have you looked on Amazon? Teton makes some good tools, or so I’m told on here. I believe they are made in Taiwan. I would try to stay away from tools made in China.....no prejudice, just experience, tools aren’t real good. But like anything, there are some that are...

Help me choose between these two, or offer an alternate!

IMHO, HF has the 16 drawer rolling box - top and lower - for 299.99 w/coupon. The box is rated at 1050 lbs and has gotten some pretty good YouTube reviews. Just my opinion. Ultimately, you have to make the decision because you are the one that has to use it and live with it. Anyway, good luck...

    Snap-On Impact Socket

Maybe someone will remember. I used to have an impact socket, to the best of my remembrance, that was Snap-On. But it was a “double-sided” socket. Memory seems, one side was 13/16 while the other side was 5/8, or something like that. 1/2 inch drive and I used it as a lug nut socket. Does...

    Post up your Thorsen tools!

I’ve had my Thorsen sets at least 40-45 years and I only broke one 3/8 Drive 1/2 inch socket and that was my fault. I have the 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2 ratchets as well as SAE and Metric wrenches. Since Thorsen quit I’m relegated to stay and such for the older stuff. I inherited my dad’s Craftsman set...

My sockets are driving me crazy, thinking about starting over!

If you can still find Thorsen (US made) it would be a good value. I’ve had mine for going on 45 years and have yet to break one. I guess, try eBay. Outside of that, you’re gonna have to up the budget if you want a quality set. I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve bought HF sets and they have worked...

    Rusty Tool Box Hinge Help!

I've read that vinegar is a good rust remover. Trying to find a pan big enough will be my problem. Top box is 30 inches. The lid is hinged on the back and front. The front hinge is attached to the front cover that covers the drawers. Can soak one side then the other I guess.

    Rusty Tool Box Hinge Help!

Tonyciambrone, I have not tried heat. Have to check into that. Charlie51 and Randy in Maine, I have heard of Kroil but not Gibbs. Is there a local source for these. We have the typical walleye world and and depot stores along with several auto parts houses. Checked online and can order. Looking...

    Rusty Tool Box Hinge Help!

Hello. First post in this forum. I have four tool boxes, three of which have piano hinges, two of which are rusty and are frozen. What is the best way to get them moving? I've used penetrating oil and Evapo-Rust but this seems not to work. The hinges are spot welded to the lids so I don't...
