Tube gate hinges rusted/broke - repair options

Thanks for the tips. Regarding chain & turnbuckle, I'm sure I can rig something up. Most of the sagging seems to come from the posts shifting rather than the gate itself, from my experience.

Tube gate hinges rusted/broke - repair options

Thanks for the reply. I've used those before on a gate like this, but the location they needed to go was right where the other hinges had been, which was a problem with the large holes there - the tubing collapsed when I tightened them on. I was able to force some chain-link fencing top-rail...

Tube gate hinges rusted/broke - repair options

I have one of those 10' green tube gates that is missing the hinges. The gate just has rectangular holes where they used to be. Based on my experience, this is not uncommon, so I'd expect to see some replacements available that have the hinge with an oversized weld pad that could be used for...

    Pressure washer making a heck-of-a-racket

I did check oil in both the pump and engine - both were fine. I didn't seem like a carb problem. It ran fine with no load. It is very possible that it was being starved of water. There was enough debris at the inlet that it very well could have throttled the supply. The racket from the PW...

    Pressure washer making a heck-of-a-racket

I have a Simpson 3300psi pressure washer with a Kohler SH series engine. It's about 1/2 a year old and has been used maybe a dozen times - residential use. Up until today, it's run great. I pulled it out today and fired it up and started using it and it would bog down under pressure, along...

Old Dewalt Sawzall, switch stuck on 1st, now won't run

I looked further into it, and the switch mechanism has definitely broken. It'll cost $50 to replace it. I think I'll be better off spending that money on a new saw. The trigger is only one of a few issues the saw has, although none of the others kept it from working.

Old Dewalt Sawzall, switch stuck on 1st, now won't run

That switch on the left with the resistor is unknown to me. I never switched it in all the years I've had it. The trigger is held in the top right of the housing. Looking again at that picture, I see what looks to be a plunger protruding from the left side of that black component. For some...

Old Dewalt Sawzall, switch stuck on 1st, now won't run

Hello, all. I have an old Dewalt Sawzall. Recently, it would intermittently hang up in the on position, and would quit only when I unplugged it. The trigger was a little loose, but functioned well enough most of the time. Yesterday, I was using it and then it just quit. The trigger felt the...

DPDT center-off switch wiring question for use as a transfer switch

I don't remember the HP rating for the submersible pump. At least 1, but maybe a bit more.

DPDT center-off switch wiring question for use as a transfer switch

My ignorance is the reason for both this thread and the confusion in this thread. Let me rephrase my question. I currently have a 3-wire with ground 240V cable running to a well pump. The 3rd wire has been cut at a junction box away from the main breaker box, making it a 2-wire circuit w/...

DPDT center-off switch wiring question for use as a transfer switch

I am planning on an electric brewing setup that will require 3-wire with ground, so while the 5500W heating element doesn't need it, the system will in the future. The pump is running without a neutral. So, my question should have been better worded. I would like to know the answer to my...

DPDT center-off switch wiring question for use as a transfer switch

Hello all. I have a 240V circuit powering my submersible well pump that I want to add a Leviton 1288 DPDT switch to which would act as a transfer switch between the existing circuit and a new circuit I want to add for running a 5500W homebrew boil kettle. I don't have enough spare capacity in...
