    2014 Garage sale thread!

Today's Craigslist lunchtime deal. Gawd, I love CL! Lady wanted $100 for the bench grinder and $15 for the 'clamps'. I offered $75 for both and asked her to counter. She was happy with the $75. The grinder, smooth and quiet, unlike the 1HP Crapsman I currently own. I couldn't tell the brand...

    2014 Garage sale thread!

Thanks! The 'Craftsman' logo looks old, anyone date it for me? The feeler gauge is from the 60s, I think. The guy had a CL ad for a garage sale with tools, antiques and primitives. Turns out he's a collector that mainly travels to shows but opens up his barn once a year, and I was lucky...

    2014 Garage sale thread!

Shiny things caught my eye this weekend. Un-branded chisel, lightly used. it was almost as sharp as a wood chisel! Got a little hot on one corner tho. The Bonney feeler gauges look like they've never been used. And the 1" - 2" Crafstman mic's just jumped in my hand!

WWGJD? Advise a newbie on a CL deal

Yeah, I know. I think he started out with two. Prolly all the 'good' stuff went in the first barrel. The thing that caught my eye was the black handled hacksaw. I have one just like it, wobbly handle and all! I'm kinda surprised he hasn't lowered the price after all this time. :dunno:

    2014 Garage sale thread!

Thanks Nine-Fo! This sale was basically an open door to a stuff filled garage, nothing sorted or priced. That was the first thing that caught my eye, so I grabbed it and carried around while I did the rest of my 'shopping'! BTW, your work is very inspiring. Thanks Jake, I can see you're a...

    The VISES of Garage Journal

It's really in great shape. The only real marks are where the anvil would have been if it had one. A bunch of small punch marks and not much of anything else. Nope, the Bud was done waaaay before the pic was snapped. It's kind of a disgusting sound, think 70's pr0n.

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Mandatory vise pic. Here's what brought me to this site. Found this Craftsman 5161 at a garage sale last year for $10. Still a few flecks of the original blue/grey paint can be seen, but I'm just gonna wipe it down and enjoy the patina. It was so well 'greased' that you can hear it slurp...
