If you think you'll ever put a lift in, I'd spec it to thicker than 4". All the anchor systems I've seen require at least 4" to set your anchor in, factor in a touch of fudge factor and I'd go at least 5". If you can budget for it, 8" would let you use the fancy wejit epoxy anchors that...
