    My new shop in progress

Will hopefully have some more pictures soon. Been really busy with the hotrod. Had to pull the engine and replace the cam so little progress has been done on the shop. Getting cold out too.

    Liftmaster 3800 questions/concerns

I hired a local company to install my R15 foam core doors... they are awesome but wasn't sure what opener I wanted at the time. I'm cool with buying locally for sure. I just don't know if they will sell the opener to me or not and I'm pretty sure it will be a bit more expensive than if I sourced...

    Liftmaster 3800 questions/concerns

Good info guys. Thanks. I'll order one up shortly. Any recommendations for on-line retailers or great deals? I found it on Amazon, only installers have it locally.

    Liftmaster 3800 questions/concerns

Hi guys, I've been reading up on the Liftmaster 3800 and really like what I see. I just have a few concerns. For those of you who have them I'm hoping you can clear a few things up. 1. When the door is closing there doesn't seem to be any possible way the liftmaster can apply a bit of pressure...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Cheapest one I found on Ebay was $175 :(

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

My shop is 30x38 with two floors. The insulation and pex for the slab was about $1,300, the insulation being the bulk of the cost there. I figure it will be about $1,800 - 2,000 more to complete the system doing it myself. Not too bad if you can get the research done here. I'm getting close...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

I'm actually reading their installation PDFs right now. I'm trying to determine if I need separate sets of manifolds for each heating zone that has a separate thermostat or if there is a way to split the one manifold.

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

$175? I think I'll wing it. Seriously... I'd buy it if I was designing systems for a living but I just need this one system to work so I guess more research on-line will do it.

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Are there any examples of a proper panel setup with more than one heating zone? I'd love to see a mock up so I can visualize where these components all go and how they relate to each other. I've seen some simple mock-ups but would love to see something closer to what I'll be building. I'm a...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

So, where does the reserve water come from? I'll be filling the system with distilled water. I don't want to use our hard water as a reserve or replacement for loss. PS: thanks for the info, I'm learning slowly. I can build a house like nobodies business, can build an engine, and can code in...

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Thanks for the feedback guys, keep it coming. I'm still researching. The system will be a closed system, no need for backflow. It will be dedicated to the shop heat. I'll have a separate smaller water heater for the plumbing. I just want to be sure the pump can do 7 or 8 300' runs all at once...

    Air compressor piping

I plan on using a 3/4" to 1" copper main trunk and will branch off of that with PEX. Cheap and easy.

Please critique my hydronic heat control panel parts list

Hi guys, My shop is built and I'm working on electrical and plumbing. It is two stories, the slab has the pex tubing run to the utility closet where I intend to build out my control panel. I'm using the Takagi Jr tankless heater for the job. The lower level is 1,000sqft. The upper level is...

    My new shop in progress

It is on the road although I just pulled the engine to replace the cam. Should be back on the road in a month or two but of course it will be too cold and wet by then. Very nice shop! I'm looking for a good air compressor and have been looking at Quincy since I have a smaller one of theirs...

    My new shop in progress

I'll get some pictures of the upstairs area soon. The first floor ceiling height is 10' which will allow for a lift for certain cars like my Cobra should I decide to buy a lift. Also it allows me to swing 4x8 lumber without taking out ceiling lights. The garage doors are 8' tall with high rise...

    My new shop in progress

Managed to get it painted to match the house. I still need to build the second story deck/balocony and am currently working on wiring. Plumbing and natural gas are next. Here are some photos of the final color combination.
