    tools for gears

I have been setting up rear ends for nearly 50 years, everything from regular old dealership rebuilds for noise/bearing/sloppy builds to performance and off road rear ends. I start with the pinion shim that was in the rear end, that will get to either on the money or close to what you want...

    AMMCO 3000 vs 4000???

3000 is drum brakes only, 4000 is a combo disc and drums. The 4000 has a second power feed opposite the feed knob. Should have a 2 speed lever on it.

how do I find out if their is a lien on a snap on tool box?

I would just call Snap-On and have customer service hook you up with their finance dept. give them the serial number and name of the guy selling it if he gives you his name and they can tell you. If it is on a truck account there is next to no recourse for the dealer. That is why dealers shut...

    Matco Tools

There is a local Cornwell dealer that the husband runs the route 3 days a week, the wife runs it the other 2, while the husband stays home and handles the business you normally do in the evening. It beats one person working 80 hours a week.

    Matco Tools

Matco tools are OK, they are very aggressive price wise on their tool boxes and carts. Are you going into an area that had a Matco dealer, or a new area? Problem if there was a dealer and hasn't had a dealer for a year or two you get beat up pretty bad handling all the warranty of tools. Talk...

OEM Tools-anyone have experience with them?

Advance Auto Parts handles OEM tools. I only bought one of their tools a 12 pt. 34mm axle socket. Needed it for a big recall on Ford Transit Vans. Works OK for $10, but the nut I was taking off was only torqued to 60 ftlbs.. Many HF tools are better.

Do you lock your toolbox at home?

Yes, my ex took a metal finishing hammer out of my metal working box to drive in finishing nails to hang stuff on. Fucked up a $100 hammer. I bought her, her own tool box with a small claw and ball peen hammer, plus pliers, screwdrivers and adjustable wrench.

Any deals on Milwaukee under hood light?

I have a couple of the square LED lights, one at work, one at home. I love it for working on the HVAC at home or anywhere in the attic. At work I put it on my roll cart and shine it up, been doing a bunch of driveshaft recalls lately. I have a bunch (lost count of the small M12 batteries and...

    Does Anybody Stick Weld Anymore?

If you are working on pipelines and in refineries you do a lot of stick welding. Working for a natural gas company used to do a lot of stick welding, now to just do it to build manifolds, underground everything is plastic.

    cold saw or horizontal bandsaw

I bought one of the HEM bench bandsaws from Trick Tools. Saws like a dream, I was looking for a cold saw but they are close to $2000 for a decent one, one that is really accurate is over $5000. The HEM saw maybe slightly slower but is as accurate as a high end coldsaw.

Recommend me a 1/4” impact socket set

I bought a set of GP magnetic 1/4" Duo sockets, loved them so much I bought a set of magnetic deep sockets and flex sockets in 1/4" drive. I use them on the 4 M12 impact drivers and the 1/4" M12 ratchet. I use locking adaptors on the 1/4" hex to socket adaptor and on my extensions. Love them...
