Above 1200 Sq/FT Cleaning Up My Shop

Another lurker here, although I have posted a couple of times in this thread. This is really the only thread in the Garage Gallery that I check daily during the week. I love seeing what you have going on, with the Studebaker, and otherwise. I must admit that I was a bit worried when you...

    Anyone order from tooldiscounter.com

I ordered a complete set of GW sockets (1/4, 3/8, and 1/2") from them. Arrived as ordered in a short period of time. Best price I could find on them, with the 1/4" set being free with the 3/8" set.

    Impact driver

Previous posters mentioned the Craftsman, and that reminded me that I had surprise points waiting for me. I went to Sears online, and found the one you mentioned as well. It does say that it is still made in USA. I decided to order it and redeem my SYW points, and got the driver for a grand...

The Unofficial Vise Parts Swap Thread.

I'm looking for a main leadscrew nut for a Rock Island no. 93. Mine was cracked, and I didn't discover it until the rest of the vise was restored. I destroyed it trying to weld it back. 7/8" diameter, 4 threads per inch. Does anyone know if the nut from another brand vise would fit? Thanks...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Cleaning Up My Shop

That sprayer is very similar to the one we used before we bought our little Spra-coupe. But ours had the original 200 gallon tank, and I had fitted it with 50' homemade booms. It had a set of slicks on it just like the one you put back on! It worked well, but we had outgrown it...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Cleaning Up My Shop

Thank you for the additional pictures! It is really great to see those still in service. And thank you for maintaining them, although you see their value to your land and need them to function to prevent erosion. Treat them like a pond dam, vegetated as well as you can with grass where ever...

Above 1200 Sq/FT Cleaning Up My Shop

Andy, This is my first time posting in your thread, but I have been reading it daily for a month or more. A little about myself to get started...I'm 42, and a resource conservationist for the local Soil and Water Conservation District by day. Part-time farmer raising beef cattle, row crops...

    Snap on ratchet repair kits

I don't think that style will work, but I appreciate the offer. I'm going to call customer service in the morning to inquire.

    Snap on ratchet repair kits

I have an old FM70 ratchet that I ordered the repair kit online from Snap-on. It's my father's ratchet, and we don't have a truck, since we just have a farm. The kit came today, and I proceeded to install it. Do the kits no longer come with the reverse lever, spring, ball, and screws? The...

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

I just got off the phone with customer service, of course they're going to make it right. She told me to keep the bit for my troubles. I have no idea what I'll use it for, but I have one now if I ever need it!

Modifications to the HF 4 and 5 drawer service carts - what changes have you made?

Same here, they sent me the same Phillips bit. I'm going to call in a little bit to see what the deal is. My bill was the correct part number and description as well.

    Overseas Jack Rebuild Help Tutorial.

Man, you are quick to respond! My ram does have the groove to accept the shell. I've been reading deeper into the thread, and have resolved that it would need to be machined to accept a ucup. I'm pretty sure that the main ram seal wasn't my problem anyway. I found a mangled o-ring in the...

    Overseas Jack Rebuild Help Tutorial.

Hiball, thank you so much for all you do for folks in helping them to repair their jacks. I am working on my second floor jack that had been cast aside on our farm for not working. The first one is back in service. I tore the second one down last night, and it is nearly identical to the one...

    Cool free stuff

Cronotron used to visit the maintenance facility that I used to work at, and supplied us with all the welding supplies. Their stuff was expensive, but very good quality. I don't know how long the company has been around, but that was the late 90's, early 2000's.

    Compressor rebuild/machine tag question

Thank you for the pictures, MrKona. I have not seen any hints of the metallic green that your pump has on mine. It does have the "iron red" primer underneath the bright red on the pump. The olive green that I spoke of is on the tank, and resembles an "army olive green" to me. I am probably...

    Compressor rebuild/machine tag question

MrKona, there was no check valve on mine either, but I intend to put one in upon reassembly. After teardown, I feel that there is enough wear on most of the components to warrant the rebuild. Besides, once I rebuild this thing, it will last me the rest of my life. Would you mind posting a...

    Compressor rebuild/machine tag question

For Pardigital, here is the plate off of my compressor. It's hard to tell much about it, but it is what it is. I'm also posting a pic from the Web that I found, that I think represents what it probably should look like, except mine says air compressor, instead of air exhauster.

    Compressor rebuild/machine tag question

Thank you for the replies. I remember reading about drive screws previously, I just couldn't remember what they were called. I have the compressor in pieces now, so before pics are not very feasible, lol. I will get a good pic of the tag this evening...

    Compressor rebuild/machine tag question

Hello GJ crew. I've begun a compressor rebuild journey, and am looking for some advice on a couple details. A little background...the subject of my work is a 1950 Westinghouse Air Brake Co. 1BYC. It belonged to my wife's grandfather, and I acquired it after the rest of the family had decided...

Atlas Drill Press - What Model?

Possibly a model 64?? There was one on the local CL a couple months ago that I waited too long to call, and I'm still kicking myself. I found the manual for it online....
