Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

Oh, wow, they're still struggling to fulfill orders. I had the same experience two years ago with a back order. Compromising on quality to clear the backlog? 😬

Wright Tools Disappointment (Transforms to Respect)

HJE buys a lot of closeouts and factory seconds. Do they do the same with Wright? I'm pretty sure they specify it on the product pages, though, so probably not.

    most superior folding utility knife?

I have one of those. It will not cut you, and it does saw through cardboard effortlessly, even the thick stuff. But it's probably the most single-purpose tool I own. If it's not cardboard, it does not cut it. Boxes: all day every day. Pallet wrap: never.

Quality set of mini drill bits?

https://www.centraltools.com/ktd01-magnum-tip-drill-set-52-74.html Made in Rhode Island. I have this set, but I have never used them in a drill. I do not have a miniature drill press and they're too tiny for anything else but a pin vise. If you don't want the pouch, you can save a few bucks...

CAT Hand tools 20% Off ENDED

The dealership in my area has a 20% off promotion, but no code is needed. The prices on the site show the discount is already applied. I added the highlighting. Maybe yours looks like that?

    Long/Low Profile needle nose pliers

That might be just what I'm looking for, but I've been burned by "made in Pakistan" before. 🤔

    Made in USA extensions. Jawco

That's a bummer. It was my guess that Jawco provided the thread repair tools for the CTA and Gray tools kits. I wonder how many people worked there.

Where did you order the bits? I wanted to buy their 3.5" bits, which are not very widely available. These sites seem to be run by the same company. Same layout, different colors, but the minimum quantities and prices for each SKU vary. Kind of bizarre. mrotools.com zephyrtool.info omegatec.com...

    Let's see your Pegboard

That's not bad advice, but I'll still have to look into better mitigation. I don't have time to work on my projects during the week (or maybe I don't make time), so everything is going to be left sitting for at least 5 days between uses. Planning to check back in on this thread for more...

    Let's see your Pegboard

How do you handle dust with a pegboard? In summer, I always have to start the day wiping a fine layer of pollen off the flat surfaces in my house. If allowed to sit on metal, it attracts moisture and causes rust. Air purifier, I guess? Wouldn't work unless you keep the windows shut. An acrylic...

CAT Hand tools 20% Off ENDED

Flipping through, checking stuff out. Some odd price discrepancies. The 1/4" universal extension is sub $20, yet the 3/8" is over $60. The 7 SAE universal 3/8 sockets are below $100, but the 9 metric are 2.5x more. Maybe they don't move as many? Unfortunately, the only times I could have...

    SK Tools in 2025

More tools should be compatible with tethers. Not sure that's a great spot for it, but it's a good idea.

    Best Hex / Torx sockets?

The advice I needed back in the day was to use 1/4" bits for the small sizes, buy dedicated sockets for the medium sizes, and don't buy the larger sizes (large bits are for really large fasteners). I have several bit-holder sockets so that I don't have to swap bits out all the time. Bondhus...

No way! I bought the same thing, but for hobby use. Made in RI, company is under the same umbrella as the Moody precision drivers. I checked, but Huot doesn't sell an index for drills that small, so I'll be sticking with the pouch. I also got a nozzle cleaning tool and a soapstone holder from...

Interesting generated image in the advertising for that product. Wet noodle threads on the studs, strange fastener head, confused technician. I know that's becoming more common nowadays. Veto does the same for their new bag advertisements. Can't wait for companies to move on.
