Help with Outside unit placement for Mini Split

Thanks for the replies. I searched for riser blocks, and the ones I came across were plastic and most of them around 4" but I did did come across a 6" and a 8" one. I was thinking since I already have the old heat pump pad (16"x 36"), I will level out the pad and then place two 6x6 on top of...

Help with Outside unit placement for Mini Split

I finally took the plunge and ordered my mini split heat pump for my Garage build I have in progress. I had planned to place the outside unit on a old heat pump pad I had acquired somewhere some time ago. I do not want to mount it on the wall. Anyway a couple coworkers suggested I build a...

My New Shop/Garage Build: (Sub Shop)

Progress has been slower than usual, with the heat & humidity, especially work up in the ceiling area. I decided that I have to bring the humidity down in there to continue to work up in the ceiling. Well at least I convinced myself that climate control has become a priority. So... I took the...

I had 5 yards (about 5.5 tons) of Crush-Run stone delivered and got it spread out. Came out short, I think I will have to get another 3 yards. I may pick up a few more blocks too.

I tried several calculators and was thinking a 24,000 BTU mini split was more than enough for my 30x34. I was a little surprised when you said you got a 34,000 BTU unit, but I guess the extra area and climate may be the reason. Still not sure on what to get that would fit into the budget.

I sure would like AC right now, the heat slows down my progress. What mini split system did you get and what size is your garage?

P&P excavation came back in to finish the final grade on the driveway with Crush-Run. I had them run the stone 1/2 way down the side of the garage for me to park my trailer. I got a couple yards of topsoil to blend in the stone to the yard. At least 1/2 of the top soil is on the neighbors yard...

We took a few days off last week and went to Gettysburg Bike week. Great weather the whole time except for a little rain on the way home. Can't see much in the pic, but that was Lita Ford in concert Gettysburg Bike Week.

Got sticker shock at the prices of insulation, plywood and drywall. I guess I have been behind the times, been awhile since I looked at them till I started this build. I sold my Softail custom to help finance this project. Sorry to see her go but I wasn't riding her and on brighter side hat...

The R-19 insulation is going slowly. Working in the Heat alone is not helping any. I was originally thinking to try and figure out what to do about the floor. I like the concrete look, so I guess I need a clear finish that won't cost me dearly. Now with working in the heat, I may have...
