    New Shop

Unfortunately no. The city requires hot water if you have a sink. Found a 1.2 gal heater that mounts to the wall under the sink and only needs a 110v outlet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Shop

Small update, the plumber showed up today! I'm so glad they were able to vent inside the shop. I wasn't keen on poking a hole in the roof. Now if I could just get the meter box and breaker panel installed I'll be ready to rock the walls. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    New Shop

Thanks! I was really hoping the power washer would be able to pull up the tire marks... but when I was using the nozzle that was able to pull it up, it started to chip away the concrete :wtf:. Wasn't really an issue having them there for me, it's a car shop... I just hope that it doesn't...

    New Shop

Broke down and bought a shop light. Just finish applying the desifier in the car shop area. Here's a picture just as I started applying it. As I was power washing the area I noticed where water got in the bathroom, I previously applied the densifier and GhostShield, it beaded up and shed...

Good thing the frame is inside the building and not part of the overall structure. So I don't have to worry about snow load or sheering. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Garage rules for kids..

We definitely laid down some rules for my boys, in both my shop and my father-in-law's shop. I believe my boys were around 3 or 4 when we talked about it... and anytime they are around tools or machinery, we always have a safety talk. It's really about making them aware of their surroundings...

Perfect, this is exactly what I needed! Thank you! Just have to make sure that the material that available matches the load numbers.

    Ceiling Joist Calculation

This is good... but it only lists Douglas, Him and Southern Pine... #2 at that as well... this is good info but I think there are better species out there that can get you longer spans.

Simple clear floor using stain guard + densifyer

I ordered some TL37 and GhostShield 8505 and tested it in a small area before I left town. Did a water test and I was throughly amazed... the water beaded up and wiped away with no trace. DIdn't get a change to test oil but the GS 8505 is specially formulated for oil so I'm confident it will...

    Ceiling Joist Calculation

So I'm building a room inside the building. The idea is to isolate the woodshop so that I don't get saw dust all over everything else and I can double insulate it so I can work year round in the woodshop. Thanks for the suggestions, oddly enough, I never thought about calling up a lumber yard.

    40x42x16 ...looking for heating options

Whet are you located? What are you going to use the space for? Will it be partitioned? Do you have propane or natural gas available? Do you have any insurance restrictions on burning? Will you need cooling as well? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Ceiling Joist Calculation

This is related to my shop that I'm building http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=305729 In the wood shop, it's basically a 24 x 25 room with 10' walls. I do plan on using the area above for storage. Nothing too heavy but I will be walking around up there. I'm using my current...
