I am looking to buy a pair of Snap-On Wire Stripper/Crimper/Cutter for use on the boat. I there are two models that I have seen recommended on here but I don't know the difference or which would be best for marine use. The two models I am looking at are: PWCSS7CF at $44.75 and PWCS7CF at...

    Buffer recommendation - Light Duty

Looking for a recommendation for a light / medium duty 90 degree angle buffer. Something like what is pictured below. This is for very infrequent use on a boat. Definitely not for daily or professional use. Thanks in advance.

    WTB - Vintage KR537D and KR557D

I appreciate the pics. That is exactly what I am looking for. I assume that is in Texas? At a flea market? Unfortunately, that is a little further than I am willing to drive for boxes.

    WTB - Vintage KR537D and KR557D

Your thread is what got me thinking about my old boxes. I am sure they will turn out great - no project is complete without some setbacks along the way. I loved those little drawers on the right side of the K537D's. Good luck with the rest of your restoration - I look forward to see some more...

    WTB - Vintage KR537D and KR557D

Cash buyer. Looking for matching KR537D and KR557D in very good condition or better condition - no junk. I am in Southern MD but will drive a ways for the right boxes. I had this set when I was young and in the bodywork business - trying to recapture my youth.

    Cordless impact recommendation needed

Went ahead and bought the combo. That way I will have a drill and an impact that use the same battery in the same bag. $199 at the locally owned hardware store minus a 10% military discount after the clerk saw my ID when I opened my wallet to pay.

    Cordless impact recommendation needed

Thanks for the recommendation. My DeWalt drill is an older 14.4V. I'll probably just get a new DeWalt with lithium batteries.

    Cordless impact recommendation needed

I will be doing a lot of deck work - driving a ton of screws. It's enough work that I have decided to buy a cordless impact instead of using my DeWalt cordless drill for the job. I borrowed a friends impact awhile back and loved how much easier it was to shoot screws with instead of using a...

Fluke clamp on multimeter for DC

Fluke 325. Does AC & DC. Good range. Comes with case and quality test leads. Bought mine off Amazon. Just looked - $215.49 and it's Prime eligible. Just got it a couple of weeks ago - so I haven't used it much - mostly playing around but so far I am happy - not surprised; its a Fluke.

    Need a good crapper

To close this out ..... I ended up never getting around to changing out the crapper. Last week I had a carotid endarterectomy (having my carotid arteries roto-rooted) and they put my on Hydrocodone pain meds. Well one of the side effect of these meds is constipation and turds the consistency...

Messy co-workers in a body shop

That brought a smile to my face ... I remember wiping hoses down. Before I left to join the US Navy, I worked for 3 years in a nice, well kept indy body shop. It was standard operating procedure to knock off work 30 minutes early to clean. The owner typically stayed after we had left and if...

Best tape measure for a mechanic?

I like you guys - my kinda folks. Not just anybody could discuss a tape measure for 5 days and cover 5 pages in comments. Seriously, it's nice to know there are others out there with this affliction.

SO High Perf/Spline wrenches and Cummins QSC8.3 diesels

Putting a set of tools together before we take delivery of the new boat. I know Cummins QSC8.3 engines have a lot of metric 12 bolts on them. What I don't know is what is the difference between a regular 12 point Snap-On wrench and the High Performance/Spline wrenches they have listed on the...
