I have Alum-A-Pole pumps and poles that are over 10 years old and in great shape. We don't use them everyday and they are stored in the garage when not in use. It was my opinion that they were better built and stronger than the Werner Brand. We have some werner aluminum planks and many ladders...

As others have said drill and fill would be the most economical way. I am a remodeling contractor and we also do some insulation work and have had great success with dense packing cellulose.
