    No ground outlet

If the device is not 3 prong don't worry about the ground it doesn't need or use one. If you are using it for A/C window units or grounded computer equipment I would run a new wire with a ground or install a new outlet as older homes never have enough outlets per room normally.

Sprinkler System Backflow From Elevation Change

You would still need the vacuum break, but the check valve down stream towards the sprinkler heads would stop the flow. There are decent quality check valves on the market if you hit a supply store.

Of course get the manifold out of...

What are common SAE and metric sizes for 3/4” and 1” sockets?

At least in Pa sales tax exempt is only good for resale items. The ongoing debate is if items like tie wraps, plastic push pins oil dry etc can covered by a blanket shop supplies line item or need to be itemized.

What are common SAE and metric sizes for 3/4” and 1” sockets?

They were a thin wall impact, I still have that and the 2&13/16" that fit the 40k diffs.......of course Rockwell redesigned the nut a couple years later so they were made obsolete.....

Thinking about buying an AC recovery machine

Yes you recover for reuse. Contaminated refrigerant needs to go to a reclaimer like Agas in a DOT certified bottle, most HVAC supply houses can also take it some will buy it others will charge you to take it.
