Do you use dynabeads for cars too or just motorcycle tires? Used them on my KZ750 a few times and seemed to work well.

Anyone With Their Own Tire Changer at Home?

^^I’ve regularly changed 180/55/17 sportbike tires by hand. Moderately easy in the summer when you can let the tire bake in the sun. Can’t even imagine trying to change a 245/45/18 or bigger in the winter without a machine!

Anyone With Their Own Tire Changer at Home?

I'm in the same boat. I'm not SUPER concerned about recouping costs, but unfortunately I haven't found a local place that isn't a "national chain" but get's stuff done the right way, the way I'd do it. Sounds just like my situation, I usually have 4-5 total cars on the road and it's a huge...

Anyone With Their Own Tire Changer at Home?

Getting tired of paying the shops to mount/dismount at $100 per set. By now I could have easily bought one of those Mayflower ones on eBay. http://mayflowertools.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/1-2.png 1. Which one do you have and would you recommend it to a friend? 2. How often do you use it...

    DIY/Wood Car Stands(Cribbing)...Let's see them!

I would rest a frame on the blocks pictured in this thread, but I wouldn’t do a rotor/drum. Since the thread has been bumped up, as an update I have built the same blocks as the picture in my original post, and have had a 300zx, RX7, 2 Miatas and a 1500 Silverado. Not to mention laying a 12x12...

Decent Metric Tap & Die Set?

Definitely have this in the back of my mind as of right now. Battling a stuck stud in a manifold right now and don't want to have to deal with having to dig a tap out too!

Decent Metric Tap & Die Set?

I've had to run to the local hardware store to grab 2-3 in the past and I was impressed with Irwin. It didn't feel like it was going to break when using it by hand like others I've felt. Definitely has that heavy/solid feel.

Decent Metric Tap & Die Set?

Ha! Exactly what I need it them for. Mainly looking for a set to fix cross-threading and or clean up existing rusty threads.

Decent Metric Tap & Die Set?

I typically buy tools based on use and best bang for the buck. For example, Harbor Freight impact sockets on a Snap-On ratchet. It's worth it to pay for a fine tooth ratchet when you're in a tight space but for a home garage it's hard for me to pay $150 for a set of sockets. With tap & dies...

i noticed that too while I was Swiss cheesing the material. Sometimes if I stopped and started again ~30 sec later I would burn a hole almost instantly.

I'll double check. I'm 99% sure I would have bought the right thing since I grabbed an extra spool of wire at the same time I bought it, but like my welds I'm not perfect.:p

Started to weld today, critique/feedback is appreciated.

Machine: Lincoln Electric Weld Pack HD, runs on house current, flux core wire Material: Scrap car exhaust pipe, just like what you would find at you local parts store or muffler shop. Not an OEM exhaust. Experience: Stick welding a few days in high school shop class 17 years ago and YouTube...

Buying a used lift(MaxJax)..would you do it?

Not a bad deal, best out there now seems to be $2200 with anchors and free shipping to a commercial address(+$100 to a house) I'll be honest I was thinking of having a company install it since I know absolutely nothing about concrete work and for the peace of mind. Is it really as DIY friendly...
