    No it is 12 feet ... its a single car garage. ... 12 feet from block wall to block wall And a 12 foot 2x6 can obviously hold more then 50 lbs i wasnt even gunna respond to that (probably even laying flat) But thanks for all responses ... kinda makes me laugh the people with the "engineering"...

    thanks everybody for the responses... I was thinking I would double up two of the 2 X 6 X 12 rafters.....and then lift from the space in between those two rafters. Still make the piece of steel I'm lifting from span across 4 rafters / 3 spaces .... so my piece of steel is on top and across 4...

    Not sure what that means... it's a block garage... and the 2x6x12 truss spans from one side to the other....

    I figure a truss can hold at least 500 lbs . So if I span 3 trusses I should be good for at least a 1000 lbs

    You just roll the car back then bring in your engine stand .... the garage is so small even with the engine lift i would end up rolling then car back out of the garage anyways for room to work on it.... so if i buy one it will be one more thing i cant fit in garage .... and i live canada they...
