Work on the 74 x 30 5-bay garage has begun!!!!

Looks nice! Make sure dirt guy brings up the inside in lifts, compacting each lift. It's tough to compact after the floor is poured! I lose jobs all the time to "dirtbags" who don't excavate properly. Keep us updated on your progress.

    Concrete/wall question.

Good news on finding another contractor! Around here it is nearly impossible to get someone to pour on somebody elses footings. I prefer the vertical dowel design over the keyway. Not only will it help keep the bottom of the wall in place, it will now make the wall act as a beam, helping it...

Where do I find the best deal on Pex tubing?

Mike, I talked to a friend that does HVAC. He can provide WATTS at 55 cents a foot. I believe he said they are available in 600' rolls. Shipping would be extra. He can also supply anything else you need to get your job completed. Let me know if you have any questions. Bryan

How are you providing hot water to your garage?

I sleeved pex tubing with black plastic well pipe, ran it from my boiler room in the house to my detached garage. It takes about 15 seconds for the hot water to hit the sink in the garage, works great!

What unique features did you do or wish you had done when planning you garage?

The absolute best thing I did in my shop was to add a urinal. It takes up very little space and it gets used constantly, it's amazing how fast beer gets converted to waste! I put a 220V receptacle in the ceiling for my 4 post lift. (no cord to trip over) I had the truss company add a wedge...
