Do you wish you went with the other flooring

I'm going to guess a lot of these guys haven't been in some of the newest high end auto dealer service centers. Most of them have a tile floor.....rolling equipment is a non-issue. Now if my employer would just a/c my shop here in Florida..... :) Chris

I looked at a 44x56x16 building - It seemed small

That is how we built my brothers place. 8x8 posts, framed in between and insulated. Sheathed the outside in plywood and then sided to match the house. We did use standard spacing on the roof trusses vs the more common pole barn spacing. It saved us having to dig footers.... I will say the...

    Toolbox organization

pl_...... Did you buy the black trays with the holders or separate? Are all those twist lock or are some heavy duty clips? Lastly....did you have enough clips with the rails or did you purchase additional clips? I have 25 year old Matco racks/rails in my box but they are finally worn to the...

As a technician, how much does NOT owning a scan tool limit you?

I work for one of those fleets. I'm currently set up with a Xentry(MB) laptop for Sprinter use, another laptop that Noregon has loaded Ford and GM OE software. I do everything in house including programming new modules and OEM sofware updates. Heck, we even submit warranty claims through our...

Just got my Husky 72in Mobile Workbench

Heck...I'll even add this point....You could by 6 (not a typo) Husky 72" boxes for what I bought my Snap On Classic 96 a few years back. Had this wide assortment of boxes from various mfgs been available then I doubt I'd own my current box.

Just got my Husky 72in Mobile Workbench

I just recently looked at both. They seem really comparable. As a guy who has made his living turning wrenches for 30 years...I love a box with more shallow drawers than deep. **** tends to get lost/buried in the deep drawers. The Husky box is 24" deep. Another small advantage. I'm actually...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

What the hell....I'm sure it's already in here but I'll add my 2 cents worth.... 3HP electric motor. https://www.harborfreight.com/engines-generators/electric-motors/3-hp-compressor-duty-motor-68302.html Best 169.00-20% off coupon (139ish total?) money I have spent in a while. I used it to...

VCT Garage Floor After 10 1/2 Years (Photos)

For a few years I was just south of your place stationed at El Toro. The Marine Corps took away any desire to run a floor buffer ever again. You haven't had fun until you light the Johnson's Paste Wax on fire....and I'm to freakin old and crippled for a buffer rodeo.

    porcelain in the "ghettolenno" garage

Funny you should mention that......I'm working on purchasing a piece of property at a small grass strip, across the taxiway from my brothers hangar/business. I plan on using it as my retirement place. Couple of quick questions.... Brand of tile? Size? Polished through body or a high quality...

    The Harbor Freight PASS/FAIL Thread...

I'd put the Pro quality a little better than Craftsman but not quite as nice as SK. I have a couple of sets of each for garage use. I also tossed a set of each in my box at work for when you just need that "extra" wrench(or you lose/misplace your nice ****...LOL). I like the thicker handles...

    Best 1/2" Air Impact Wrench

If you use a 1/2" to make a living.... The newest IR quiet technology impacts are awesome! They are a little pricey for home use though. I've had mine about 3 months and it still amazes me how quiet it is. Chris

    Box Recommendation For Beginner Tech.

I bought the Sunex 1/2" drive, deep impact socket set,7/16" to 1 1/4" almost 20 years ago. The only size that is in really bad shape is the 7/8" from all the rusty lug nuts I fought with when I was in snow country. Then I got smart and moved to Florida. :) 20 years ago? O.K.,now I feel old ! I...

Prefab Insulated Panels for Metal Building

My brother just built an aircraft hangar. 45'x55'. 20' to the eaves. One wall has a door that is 18'x48'. Long story short....he priced the three walls and it would have added around 15-18K to the price of the building. He ended up not needing to use them....

    My 2-Car Porcelain Tile Install....

The lanai on my house has a ~600sq ft screened enclosure. The concrete is covered with a mid grade porcelain tile. Florida gets just a wee bit of rain in the summer. One corner of the floor is under water until it drains. That said the floor is almost 20 years old and when you pressure wash it...

    My new garage floor

I wish this forum had been around 20 years ago. I put 100% solids over a 3 month old slab (1400 sqft) without primer. It had bubbles like you wouldn't believe. I lived with it but never knew what the issue was.....the floor was durable as hell but it just didn't look great. Chris

    Opinion on snap on Rachets

I'm a single man show here at my place. Nobody to influence me. Heck I didn't even know about comfort handle with fine tooth until I picked one up on the truck and played with it. My Snap On guy never even told me about them. Once i picked up a comfort handle Snap On i never looked back...

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

Jay, I'm sorta in the same boat. My garage currently has 32,4ft,T8,6500K bulbs. They are rated at 2850 lumens each. You can perform surgery in there currently. The issue I have is the lamps have always killed my radio/tv/electronics when they are on. I noticed last night a couple of bulbs are...
