Proto Velocity Tool Cabinets - Any Info?

Could be off base - but when I was looking at Proto boxes I noticed some are marked Made in USA with Global Materials. If COO matters to you, I'd double check for whatever box you're buying. Not sure how Proto would define the box construction anyway - Chinese steel molded in America? American...

Tekton Rousseau Tool Chest Overview & Thoughts

Thanks to Fedwrench, he gave me the final push I needed to purchase. You're right, it's not just one step above DIY grade. I won't edit my post, but quickly coming to realize these are really nice boxes. Haven't heard of them, apparently they're in Kankakee, IL, within driving distance...

Tekton Rousseau Tool Chest Overview & Thoughts

A strong glue ripping up the powder coat or maybe a metal pin in the body? I was just happy it was so easy to debadge. I was prepared to cover any carnage with a sticker.

Tekton Rousseau Tool Chest Overview & Thoughts

Casters seem good although I don't move my box very often. Just tested and I can't move the box without considerable force with the stoppers on. I think Rousseau is the Canadian industrial storage equivalent of Vidmar. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Tekton Rousseau Tool Chest Overview & Thoughts

Thanks! I was skeptical initially as well. I tried a similar mechanism at Menards on the Masterforce boxes. Not sure if we're talking about the same thing with your KRL. On the Tekton, the aluminum handle is heavy duty, I can open it with confidence anywhere laterally on the handle. The action...

    Tekton Site Credit $265

Hello, I have a Tekton.com site credit of $265. I'd like to sell it here for $215, Paypal goods and services. The tricky part will be redeeming. I can't send you a gift card. You would have to let me know your order and I could place it for you, shipped to your address. Anything over the $265...

Tekton Rousseau Tool Chest Overview & Thoughts

Hi GJ, Wanted to share a hodgepodge of thoughts regarding Tekton's (Rousseau OEM) relatively new tool chest and why I took a leap of faith on a ~$3K box sight unseen. Apologies in advance for posting a novel! I was in the market for my first large toolbox, moving on from the chaos of living...

    Ceiling Fan Wiring Colors

Hi GJ, This is more of a home living space question and not so much related to the garage, but, I really want to get going on this project. I have seven ceiling fans to install at my new construction home. Hopefully this is quick. I paid for ceiling fan boxes all wired up. The junction box is...

    15% off tekton

Amazing! I'm strongly considering this box, love the drawer layout, love the overkill 400lb slide capacity, like that it's North American made. What are your initial impressions? I know there's not much to it. I was trying to figure out what gauge steel the box shell is. Tekton's website...

Exactly what I needed. Thanks a million, Shea!

    Prep for Topcoat

Hi GJ, I've let my initial epoxy layer set longer past the re-coat time for applying a topcoat. Given the circumstances, what would I need to adequately prep the floor? I reached out to my manufacturer and they recommended a light sand and wipe down with denatured alcohol. I can do that -...

    Toolbox shopping

I'm also in the market - wish there was some sort of review or comparison for the Williams made in USA boxes. Nobody on GJ seems to own one. Other than that I've considered Homak RS Pro. Not a fan of Proto's - think they're made in US with global materials, and Kennedy is just not feasible...

    SK Steals and Deals

They should really use some more foresight in their postings... They already offered two of the DBE wrenches last month, 11mm/12mm and 13mm/14mm. OK good deal and nice wrenches - so now for Sept they're going to offer a set with three additional wrenches? So you're SOL if you purchased the two...

    Craftsman Pedestal-Type Power Tool Stands

Ditto everyone above, thank you so much for this contribution. Just picked up 38212-103 with original casters today for $5. Now, is it sacrilegious to put a DeWalt table saw on it? Ha

2020 - What are the Masses Using as a Beer Fridge?

Hi GJ, Planning out my garage, I'm curious what people are using as beer fridges. Yes, I've used the search function, and while refrigerator technology has not necessarily changed, there are definitely a couple new models out there. I was reading a thread on here about someone looking at USA...

    Crack on Bottom of Slab

Wow thanks for such a comprehensive response, definitely came to the right place. A bit embarrassing to not know the schematics, but with a national builder and a standard blueprint house (non-custom) they mass produce, you don't really have much input in things like how they pour the...

    Crack on Bottom of Slab

Hi GJ, I'm having a house built by a national commercial builder. My garage will be my sanctuary and I cannot wait!!! - I know some of you guys have detached garages that rival the size of mansions, but my 900sq ft will have to do. I went for my pre-drywall walkthrough the other day - knowing...
