Do chrome tools need rust prevention spray?

From personal experience, as long as you dry off your chrome tools after working in wet conditions and keep the tools oily, it shouldn't be an issue. That being said, it's tools with black finish like impact sockets, hex keys, and pry bar shafts that you should really be worried about if rust is...

OFFICIAL Craftsman POLL for 2022- will they deliver

It still isn't much of an excuse. Just look at how quickly Tesla was able to get their plant in China up and running. The US is no longer has the reputation for being able to get stuff done quickly and efficiently.

OFFICIAL Craftsman POLL for 2022- will they deliver

Pretty much. You've got to be pretty naive if you think Craftsman brand recognition isn't the main reason why Stanley bought the brand. Marketing is a very important part of selling stuff in the US.

Place your bets! Craftsman USA tools being released this year?

Nobody who actually has a legitimate need for a wrench set is going to wait this long. By the time these Craftsman USA tools are out, I would have already picked up all the USA made duplicates I may want off the used market. If you are betting that these tools will come out, your strategy should...

    Old people tools

Hybrid cars have the same battery warranty problem, are more complex than both conventional ICE cars and EVs, and depreciate faster than conventionally powered vehicles. The data comparing the resale value of a Corolla vs a Prius has been out there for a long time.

Harbor Freight Warranty - Is it easy? Worth the hassle?

If you happen to want to shop there or have something else to do nearby, it's definitely worth claiming the warranty. There was this one time I had to warranty my Pittsburgh Pro breaker bar. It was pretty much no questions asked, walk in and walk out. About as painless as warranties come. In...

    Old people tools

Not every automaker is that charitable. There are loads of horror stories of people left with a car with no resale value after their battery failed past the 8 year warranty period.

Canadians- Bringing toolboxes over the border??

Usually Canadian customs just makes you pay sales tax on top of whatever the total amount is on your receipt if they pull you over for secondary inspection unless we're talking about liquor and tobacco. It also depends on how the busy border crossing is and how good you are at bluffing your way...

Somebody send these guys a ratchet

There was an African co-worker from one of my previous jobs who mentioned that back in his home country, they resort to using super long cheater bars on seized fasteners instead of using a torch because of the cost of acetylene. I guess priorities are different when cheap labour is a factor.

    Gloves Are Tools, Right?

PPE in general are tools. Even if you have to pay for it yourself, it's better to use it than to be injured. If you don't use disposable gloves, good luck with claiming workers compensation down the line for diseases like cancer where the cause is usually long term exposure to chemicals.

Has any one tried out Astro or Sunex triple square socket sets?

Both sets look like they are generic rebranded made in Taiwan sets.

1/2 Socket Set Recommendations: Koken, GearWrench, Tekton, or something else

I wouldn't be too picky when it comes to sockets. The bottom line is that as long as you are buying something that's made with decent steel and reasonably tight tolerances, you're good to go. As for chrome vs impact, the larger you go up in size, the less the wall thickness matters, assuming...

Does anyone have or use this ratcheting atachment?

I've heard of this style of tool. There are definitely situations where it can make your life easier.

    Snap On monthly flyer’s

You need access to a Snap on guy that participates in those promotions. The flyers are fun to skim through at work if you want to keep track of the new stuff that Snap on is releasing, but the deals aren't that impressive. They generally don't give more than 10% off and the BOGO deals never...

Best Place to Sell Vintage Vises?

Selling on ebay makes absolutely no sense due to shipping costs. Even selling on classifieds is not worth the hassle if said vice has little to no residual resale value.

What's your favorite impact bit set preferably with no 1" bits

If you are going to be using the bits for power applications, you are wasting your money if you buy the expensive ones. Bits at the end of the day are consumables, especially when attached to an impact driver. I usually just go with whatever is cheap and halfway decent. My Canadian Tire bits...

Adjustable wrench vs Plier wrench (i.e. Knipex)

I mainly use the pliers wrench unless the odd jaw angle or the handle dimensions become an issue. The main reason I would go with a pliers wrench over a traditional adjustable wrench is the absence of play once you lock on using the one handle trick or even just clamp down with both handles...

Ingersoll Rand - battery powered impact gun?

When buying cordless tools, the platform is just as important as the tool. Cordless tools is one of those things that IR never specialized in to begin with. There's no way they will be able to compete if they don't have a full line up of tools that you can use those overpriced batteries with.

NEW GEARWRENCH COMFORT GRIP LOCKING FLEX HEAD RATCHETS

Thanks for reviewing the new GW locking mechanism. I just might get around to buying one if I can justify adding to my ratchet collection.
