    What bulbs? T5, T8, T12?

I have a garage that's 24'x20' with a 9' ceiling. Assuming T12s out not the thing now-days...do I want T5 or T8? And do I want to high-output version of them? I do automotive detailing. I use halogen portable lights for my work, but I need the garage well lit in general.

    Lighting experts...what about flourscent cans?

I can understand the light reflecting off the ceiling being of benefit for eliminating shadows. I know that cans can have more light output that tubes, and it is a more downward-useful light. I'm not saying it's a better way to light, it's just something I'd like to see that I haven't seen...

    Lighting experts...what about flourscent cans?

Just as a comparison to the nissan crawler's setup. He has 18 t8 bulbs in his garage. Assuming they are dual bulb fixtures...that's 9 fixtures in the garage that a 4' long on the ceiling. 4' t-8 bulbs produce 2800 lumens per bulb; or 5600 lumens per fixture. Much of that light is wasted on...

    Lighting experts...what about flourscent cans?

For my garage makeover...I'm wondering...what about flourscent can lights? Everybody has the surface mount or flush mount 4' and 8' stuff. Why don't I see any 8" T-5 can lights? These lights put out a 6'+ spead and are much brighter than the regular styles. They also don't waste light on the...

    What about Mat Flooring?

I spoke with G-Floor, and they said that the mats last, on average, 10 years. They said it's mostly due to people not keeping them clean, and they just look so bad that they need replaced. They say that if kept clean, they'll look very nice. I guess after reading above, I'm concerned about...

    What about Mat Flooring?

It's a shame on the mats floors. They seem so much easier, and cheaper, than the RaceDeck types. But...I guess you get what you pay for. I emailed G-Floor requesting more info on their mat flooring, and I've gotten no reply.

    What about Mat Flooring?

Sounds like it would work for me...especially since I have cracks and such. Is there any way to keep the moisture from forming underneath it?

    What about Mat Flooring?

RaceDeck1 - I'm assuming you know "what's up" in the flooring world. I'm looking to find out if these mats are any good? I've emailed the manufacturer, but get no respose. Do they hold up, and can you turn car tires on them without them bunching up? I'd like to hear if they are worth the...

I think I'll do as busted knuckle did. I've been looking at those Hot Dawg units also. Anybody else like that unit?

    Want this heater...now what size??

Yea...the price certainly says to buy the 75,000. I just know that for a home furnace you don't want something big because of the cycling and temp swings. But again, it's a garage, so maybe those things don't matter?

    Want this heater...now what size??

Looking to maintain 40-45 all winter and then turn up if I'm out there. Does that mean the smaller is the best choice? I've heard that bigger is not better when it comes to heaters.

    Want this heater...now what size??

It's a garage attached to the house. R-19 insulation the walls. 10' ceilings. (2) average-sized windows. 2-1/2 car size. And I live in Ohio.

    What about Mat Flooring?

Most expoxy floors I've seen end up lifting or getting dirty where you cannot clean them. The polyurea stuff looks much, much better...and more expensive. But back to the thread; I'm also interested in more info on the mats type floors. Anybody have one?

I want to get one of these types of gas heaters: Heater Link I have a 2-1/2 car garage. Do I want the 45,000 or 75,000 BTU unit? I'm looking to hear from those that have one or have seen one in action. Thanks.

    Garage door opener

Yea, somebody up above say that a normal opener rail worked on 32"R, but I've always had to use a longer opener rail also. I'm with Nova65ss about the 15"R being better. There's just so much 12"R out there now. Many places, like CHI that was mentioned even have a 10"R...which I just don't...

    Garage door opener

Ohhh...I thought it was 100" high-lift. You can figure how awsome that would be! Full vert! But still...12' ceilings would be GREAT for me.

100" of high-lift means REALLY tall ceilings. I'd love to have that much space. Maybe some day.
