offered a job should i take it

This is essentially my thoughts too. Don't focus too much on the here-and-now. Perhaps a little but your main focus should be down the road a few short years from now (3-5yrs).

Vise Trade: Reed 2C for a Wilton 600S

Thanks DIF. If you think the workshop is clean, then my Jedi mind trick with the camera is working! The entire workshop is far from clean but certain areas are pretty organized. Of course it's those areas where the pics are taken and also with a little camera "angle adjustment" to boot :D...

Vise Trade: Reed 2C for a Wilton 600S

Here is the 2C. Yeah, Zoomie has (had) I believe 3 600S's and he let me choose the pick-of-the-litter so-to-speak: DIF: You're very perceptive or just have a great memory  I also picked up a Delta-Rockwell benchtop DP. The Craftsman 100 DP is in a slooooowww restoration right...

Vise Trade: Reed 2C for a Wilton 600S

The Reed 2C I picked up recently had a short stay at my house. Many of you know Zoomieport and that he's been wanting to add the 2C to complete his Reed "C" collection. He stopped by this evening and brought a very sweet Wilton 600S to trade. Super nice guy and a vise nut! It's funny...we...

Need Jacobs chuck keys - Numbering system confusion

Thanks AP. Didn't see it on their website but was able to find a chart elsewhere. Looks like a K3C key is what I'm after.

Need Jacobs chuck keys - Numbering system confusion

Looking for two Jacobs chuck keys but their numbering system has me confused: 1st chuck: 633C / 33 Taper / CAP 0-1/2 2nd chuck: 34-33-33 Taper / CAP 0-1/2in 0-13mm Can someone explain the meaning of these numbers? And more importantly which chuck key I need for each? Thanks guys!

What's in your bicycle riding carry along tool kit?

GSMotorrad: Didn't mean to suggest using the tool kit at home every time. I hear ya though as larger home tools are just way to convenient for that . But as you said I would recommend a thorough session (or two) using ONLY your carry tool kit. For example, I quickly discovered my...

What's in your bicycle riding carry along tool kit?

Forgot to mention something. Are you riding alone or with another person(s)? Lots of tool space and weight can be saved with some group coordination. For example, each person in the group does not need to carry a pair of pliers...assuming the group stays together.

What's in your bicycle riding carry along tool kit?

I go though the same thought process for long distance motorcycle trail rides. Every tool "counts" so-to-speak. Space and weight are paramount. I can't tell you exactly what to take (each bike, proximity to civilization, weather, etc are different). The best advice I can provide is to think...

Homemade electrolysis. What do you use?

Fretters: Interesting to see the imprint of the part on the water surface. I suspect you are using a very low current that doesn't disturb the water much. I had visible water movement due to the higher amperage. Either way, both amperage levels are certainly doing the job

please help! - PB Blaster is making me crazy!!

Thanks for providing this 67Carl. While it may not be 100% scientific, it's much more scientific than most comparisons where one guy says this worked or the others says that didn't work. To add another opinion, one of my buddies swears by this stuff. Good to see it rated well on the...

Homemade electrolysis. What do you use?

Those pics look like the vise may have been brought up from the Titanic or perhaps in my neck of the woods from the Edmund Fitzgerald :D. Whatever it's origin, kudos to you for taking the ol' girl in for some TLC as some would have likely tossed it without a second thought. Looking forward to...

Homemade electrolysis. What do you use?

Holy molly DIF...that is some serious rust! Sounds like you're getting close to diving into the Ebath...the vise that is. I just finished up with an Ebath this evening on my Craftsman 100 DP table and base. Here are before and after: I used the standard setup; 6v-12v car charger and...

How NOT to mount a wire wheel (or grinding wheel...)

I'd bet the guy didn't give a second thought to it being a dangerous setup (Darwin Award then as Outlaw mentioned). RPM's have a way of making bad ideas worse.
