    Walkway Lights

Solar lights that still worked and the plastic stems failed first? I didn’t think it was possible.

Wiring switched outlets off of GFCI-Wiring help requested

And do it soon before we create 300 posts telling you what we think you did wrong 😜 I vote for the neutral on the load side of the GFCI is tied to something it should not be. 299 to go.

Is bundling speaker wire a problem?

No, that’s an inductive effect. Shielding is capacitive.

Is bundling speaker wire a problem?

I suspect that is highly inadequate for this line cord:

    Plug issue

Perhaps you figured it out in post 1. 120V on the feeding wires, outlet won't power an appliance; replace receptacle.

    Plug issue

Those insulated tips are unlikely able to reach inside the receptacle. Have you tried something simple like plugging in a small appliance, radio etc. to test the receptacle? Or take an old line cord and cut and strip the wires to contact your test probes. Perhaps a male plug from the junk...

    250 watt HPS fixture

Here is what I know. I typed a response and quickly concluded I was FOS. I had two options. 1) Delete it immediately hoping I don’t get quoted before I delete. 2) Get called out for an error and argue incessantly about how I’m right. FWIW I did rewire a smaller HID fixture and bypass the...

Sub panel questions-New thread as to not hijack existing thread

It won’t be clear to you until you consider normal voltage drop on the neutral due to neutral current. Then consider the ground wire is sharing those currents. It only supposed to carry fault current. Not neutral current. Going further: Then consider an open neutral between main and sub if...

Where Can I Get These Electrical Connectors?

Whatever this is, it appears a cut may have been made after the crimp was completed. All wire strands except for two end with the brass. What does it connect to?

Questions about converting a propane firepit to natural gas

I would normally agree but I did a quick search and found this. FWIW the gas burner on my fire table is covered with marbles as you described. So I guess it can vary.

Are 4" Surface Boxes worth it?

I have a man door with a big glass panel on the side of the garage. No need for the burglar to mess with the garage door opener. That said, all my GDOs are on a separate breaker. But I’m not climbing up to remove the backup batteries. The openers do have a lock button. It turns off the...

FIRE! What was supposed to protect me from this?

PSEG. And that lineman is under the impression most utilities use CSP transformers. Probably not the case. Some practices are regional.
