    Which pocket flashlight?

I have the blue point 3aaa blue one, and that thing sure is bright but it has an appetite for batteries. I also got the mac fl432 as well and I like it over the stylus. Its slightly brighter and has an easier to use switch. It's also fairly inexpensive as far as these go.

    Home made wheel dollies

The generally design devices like that with at least a 5 to 1 factor of safety. The problem is that your load is only 1250lb just sitting there but when you move it around or set it down a little hard you get more loading than just the plain old weight. A 1/4 inch plate of that size is good...

    identify old compressor

This is my point exactly. These things have a usable life. Pressure cycling from 0 psi to 100 psi over the life of the tank wears the metal out, its called fatigue. Eventually it will crack due to fatigue. And to your point about boilers, its not much different in term of design. Yes boilers...

    identify old compressor

Just so you know that in the time frame that this compressor was built was in the early days of pressure tank design standards. In the early part of the 1900's lots of boilers were exploding and killing people. The ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel code came out to create standards for designing...

    Snap-On Carlyle Relation?

This guys point is simply just another coo argument that anything not usa is junk. I have sockets and wrenches from the old danaher made line and the new carlyle stuff and they are both high quality. The words cheap, low quality, junk, etc are not words you would associate with the carlyle stuff...

4000 peak watts, 3300 rated watts. Should be enough to run 15 amp miter saw, right?

The miter saw probably draws close to 20 amps if not over for a short period of time to get started up. Also remember that the engine needs to respond to load which isnt instant. It's just affecting the miter saw more than the circular saw. If you are really worried about it buy one of those...

    Midwest Aviation Snips

I would say that the midwest would not die an early death cutting thicker steel. The wiss definately would. Anyhow got a decent source for nws in the states? Seem to be scarce other than the places that specifically import german tools.

    Midwest Aviation Snips

The only reason why the nws are rated for more is the compound leverage that they have. I never tried them but I see this as a benefit or a downside depending on what you are doing. The midwest and wiss both will cut thicker steel you just have to be a hoss to get them to cut. I know from...

TSC oversize hand truck / dolly

If the TSC one is made by the same manufacturer that makes the 4 wheeled gorilla carts they sold eventually the hubs on the wheels will crack off. The wheels look the same. They sheared right through the rim but were easily fixed with a little bit of weld. Of course it probably was overloaded...

    wire welder

It's made by century. It probably was around $350 new. I'd pass on it for something better, hobart or lincoln.

Built myself an air line pressure gage set

Just curious how much pressure drop are you getting through your hose? I would have put the coupler in line with the plug and the gage on the 90degree part of the tee. Slightly less pressure drop that way although I doubt its enough to matter.

    Sandblaster troubleshooting

I saw a mod somewhere where the guy used long hose clamps and mounted a cheapo 1/4 sheet sander to the side of tank to keep the sand shaken at the bottom of the tank. It does prevent you from kicking it all the time. I'm with countryroad I had one as well, tried to sell it at a yard sale for...

I have the little brother to this box. I got mine off ebay from someone in southern california and they had the same box as you for sale as well. Might have been the same seller though I cant remember the name. I keep it in the back seat of my truck as a road box. If you want to match the...
