    Craftsman Drill Press

I repainted the DP the original hammered gold, but painted the motor the hammered bronze.

I took a couple more pictures today. The foot pedal (colored co-ordinated), as well as my chuck key that I used the "Franklee" treatment on. I hung it from one of the key holder things the janitors always had on their belts that spool out. I went over to Sears to buy a screwdriver about a month...

I finally remembered to take my camera down to the shed to snap a couple pics of my project 150. I took a couple scrap Radarange magnatron magnets and attached an LED light to the left side. It won't pull loose easily. Originally a switch was mounted to the right side where there were holes. I...

Here is one in Muscatine Iowa. They want $125 for each of the drill press and jig saw or $200 for the pair. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/419556341819297

I saw this critter on Facebook Marketplace. (OK I'm hooked, If I found another...). I can't see the top very well. Is it an older Craftsman? It is in Illinios. Thanks, Bear https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2151357178224544

The cord is the motor cord. I'm going to feed it down the "post" to the pedal. I put a couple small clamps to keep it away from the belt. The largest pulley on the quill pulley had a chunk broke out of it, so I used a grinder and removed the remaining part. I figure I will want to run the...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I got a little more done today. After I downloaded pictures today, I see I put the wrong decal on the headband. Something to correct tomorrow. I am pretty much done until I get my nephews here to help put it on the bench. Then touch ups and wax. I still need to polish handles and adjust the...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I don't want to get too far from the subjects of the forum, but I was proud of getting this. Bringing it home April 1st. Rust free California truck. Every one around here is rotted out. He wouldn't budge off $14K which I thought was very reasonable. Other than being bone-stock, he put in a 350...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I was able to finally get out to the shed Friday and work on my DP. I always wanted a mid 50's Chevy pickup since I regrettably sold my 57 when I was 19 or 20. My brother convinced me to run over to Illinois and look at one that popped up on the internet. I made it back out yesterday and got...

    Craftsman Drill Press

My DP has been driving me crazy. Not actually the DP but my foot. I can't go out to work on it. Two weeks ago today my friend Nathan came over and cleaned the snow in my driveway. When he was done I had him come down to the bike shed so I could show him my DP. While we were sitting there my...

I forgot to add a couple pictures of the former bench grinder motor (1725 rpm) that will be used on the DP. The 3450 table saw motor I am going to use for a bench grinder that has a broken base will get taken apart and painted to match. I got another motor from my brother to take off a good...

    Craftsman Drill Press

I kicked the furnace up yesterday and started with the Rustoleum "Hammered Gold" spray paint. I laid out some plastic on the bench and of course when I rotated the head unit, I touched the plastic. So I have a couple touch ups. The chrome on all the knobs and handles are pretty much pocked up...

Here is a picture of the crack in the base. It bolted down even on the bench. Take into consideration what I think is good shape and what my younger brother thinks is good shape are 2 different subjects. At some point I will restore the new grinder after the drill press. Also a couple pictures...

Yes sir. Thanks for the thought. I have some Harleys, use lots of anti-seize and loc-tite. This critter came apart much easier than I expected for a 60 year old machine.
