    Good Compressor Deal?

Thanks for the solid advice. I have a new garage, but didn't equip it with three-phase electric. As a follow-up question, though: I have heard alot about the benefits of sticking with American-made compressors like IR or Quincy. But are there imports of decent quality at Lowes, HD, or Sears...

    Good Compressor Deal?

http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bfs/824226974.html I was looking at a $1,300 IR 60 gallon 2 stage 5hp new compressor from Northern Tool, but came across this today. What do you guys think? Overkill for a home garage, or if I can pick it up for $750, would I be better off than the new IR?

New to the Journal..my 24x30 new construction

I got the sink off craigslist. It was from a restaurant that went out of business. Picked up two (the second has no drainboards and is for my wife's laundry room) for 200 bucks. Included two high-quality faucets.

Race Deck just as bad as Aluminum Siding?

I'm looking into my floor options and like the idea of a product such as Race Deck. But I'm troubled by a thought that keeps bouncing around in my head. Years ago, there were so many people expressing the virtues of Aluminum and Vinyl siding for our homes. But I've seen first-hand the result...

    Thickness of sheetrock

1/2 inch is typically adequate. If you have a living space above, like I do, code will likely require 5/8 for additional fire protection.

    Chick Needs Some Help!

Luckily, only one poster has come out and accused this as being a scam..so DD shouldn't feel too bad about the participants here. I personally don't think it is..but it is still a helluva story that would obviously work as a scam. Just looking at many of the posts here, it is amazing how many...

    Hypothetical property-line question.

THis is jumping the gun a bit at this stage. Just because there is an encroachment doesn't mean you have to remove the fence. It only becomes an issue of removal if the property owner has a problem with it. If the current and new property owner are cool about it, even if there is a survey and...

    Sink installation

Great ideas. There is a "lip" on the back that is about 1/2" wide where I can mount a 2x4 to the wall and hold that lip against the wall...if that makes sense. Should be enough to keep it snug and secure. I'll take a pic after I have it installed. Thanks, Rob

    Sink installation

Yeah..those are the legs. Very heavy galvanized steel. I'm just wondering if there is "supposed" to be some sort or 2x4 brace on the wall that the back attaches to.

    Sink installation

I just picked up this used stainless steel commercial sink along with a faucet/sprayer from a restaurant that closed. It's in great shape and will look nice in my new garage build. Does anyone know how these things get secured to the wall? Or do they need to be secured (other than by the...

    POR 15 floor epoxy

PineSol avoidance tip is a good idea..but any thoughts on what specifically in the PineSol is the problem. I'm considering POR 15 floors but if it is a simple household ingredient causing issues..I'm not sure its worth it.
