    110 Outlets not working

So I followed the advice of another member here and installed the new wiring how the old ones were (ground and neutral together). I installed the red/black hots on the right side of the panel into the 30 amp breaker and the ground/neutral to the opposite side bar. Is that ok? Does it matter...

    110 Outlets not working

Finished the outlet thanks to all the great advice here! Thanks guys!!! Got a generator on order to test out. Will report back on GFCI issue tomorrow.

    110 Outlets not working

OK. I think I am getting this thread a bit mixed up and ahead of myself. I really do appreciate all the advice and everyone has been super helpful. I have also learned alot in the past few days. For the generator issue, I think I have a good solution. I am going to fish the wire down the...

    110 Outlets not working

I understand and fully admit that I am a newbie. I already have 10/3 NMb with ground and the wire will be totally indoors except where it exits the vinyl siding and goes into the PB 30 box. My wife won't even let me run a length of conduit (says it is ugly) so I have to fish the wire down from...

    110 Outlets not working

Okay I am following to an extent. Are you suggesting that I check the wiring on each of the 4 outlets with the power off? Then, one by one, secure them, flip back on the power and check the GFCI again? What about checking all the outlets with the plug in tester?

    110 Outlets not working

Hold up a second. If the wire goes from the inside of the house directly into the PB30 box or through conduit into the box why would I need outdoor wire? It is not exposed to the elements at all. It is totally sealed and dry

    110 Outlets not working

Isn't the inside of the conduit dry? So would it be acceptable here? Silicone over geocell? I like geocel BC it's clear

    110 Outlets not working

question. What do you guys use to seal the hole cut for the conduit? I am thinking geocell 2300

    110 Outlets not working

LOL. 120V. Sorry :) Yeah so an update on my generator issue as well. I have decided to do the following after I tried pulling out the welder plug wiring last night. 1)Pull and cap the welder plug wiring and leave in place (already done). This wiring will be left if I decide to use that...

    110 Outlets not working

There are some light switches I believe. Nothing major. What should I be looking for?

    110 Outlets not working

Ok. Tested with DMM again voltage on line and load side through the inlets is zero on both. Next step is to bypass the GFCI by wiring together the downstream outlets and the panel correct? I have a few wire nuts laying around. :) Also noticed the light on the GFCI is out. Mean anything?

    110 Outlets not working

I wasn't using the proximity tester to check for voltage. Just seeing if the outlets are getting juice. I just busted out the DMM and the voltage at the GFCI is zero. So the proximity detector was just sensing AC current in the wires as I suggested before. Must be a bad GFCI I've...

    110 Outlets not working

I did read and the GFCI was side wired so I hope all of them are but who knows. I believe the GFCI is directly hooked to the breaker. My plan is as follows 1)await for my plug tester on thursday and post the results here 2)put a new GFCI in. 3)if that doesn't work then check the other 3...

    110 Outlets not working

Doesn't the fact that I disconnected the load lines confirm the GFCI is bad?

    110 Outlets not working

OK. So I disconnected the load connections and turned on the juice. The GFCI still didn't work. So it must be a bad GFCI then correct? Couldn't the AC detector just be sensing the current in the wires coming to the GFCI outlet? It is still getting juice from the panel but the switch is...

    110 Outlets not working

Plug tester on the way! I figure that if there is a bad connection its probably on the one of 4 outlets that is outside. Given its exposed to the elements

    110 Outlets not working

The non contact tester signals current at each of 4 outlets However no device works when plugged into each oulet including the GFCI. Since all 4 are near each other and none of them work I figured they are all wired together. I can confirm this by shutting off the breaker and testing with the...

    110 Outlets not working

Already ordered haha. Amazon prime two days. Not bad. Given the winter storm and all the work that goes along with it I probably won't make it there in a couple days anyways. I will report back with my findings As for the backstabbing and backwiring, no I don't. But I am absolutely...
