    Floor plan/layout software?

I'm just arranging my stuff in an existing house and garage, and pondering another one. If there are posts that answer this, feel free to point me to them.

    Floor plan/layout software?

Maybe I just **** at searching as I can't believe this hasn't been covered multiple times... Recommendations for (hopefully free) software for floor plan/layout software for both garages and houses? There seem to be a lot of "free" tools out there that have paid tiers with all kinds of features...

Columbus people: Where are your "places" and who are "your guys"?

I race at Mid Ohio quite a bit, so I've had to make emergency trips to both. Even went to the one in the city before they had the Delaware warehouse.

Columbus people: Where are your "places" and who are "your guys"?

Life is too short to use G2 fasteners. The G8 is so inexpensive there compared to buying at a normal store that I always just come home with handfuls of it and have a big stock of 1/4-1/2. It's about 20-25 minutes away so worth the drive unless I just need one or two of something. Bolt Depot...

You've got the through-road for local, and the bypass for express...

Columbus people: Where are your "places" and who are "your guys"?

Relocating from SE PA to Columbus. One of the things I'm lamenting is losing the collection of great places and people I've found around here over 15 years, after doing the same when we moved here after 12 years in Detroit. One of the places around here I'll really miss is a place that I call...

Is you garage shop to far away from your house?

I'm about 200 ft and it's about perfect. Far enough away to not bother the house with noise, smells, and such but not too far to walk back for the bathroom. Considering getting a yard train, though.

Off on a tangent... any recommendation for a home inspector, especially one that specializes in old homes and barns?;)

Then what? Back the trailer into the wall?

42x56 Shop - 16' Door 2 post lift install at Angle

Seems like you are trying to make a swiss army knife that does lots of things but none of them well. Lots of good feedback here, but I think none of us know enough about how you are going to use it to make the compromises. As asked above, is a car going to sit on a hoist as a project, or is it...

42x56 Shop - 16' Door 2 post lift install at Angle

I think that in real use, that arrangement would be horrible for a number of reasons. For reference, I have a lift in a 36'x48' with 2, 12' wide doors on the 36' side. First, wall space is always at a premium. By putting the lift like that you are making it impossible to use a good portion of...

    Builder recommendations in PA?

I had one done by Fetterville 10-15 years ago and was very happy with the results. They were much more willing to deal with special requests in the design, most places just wanted to do their standard boxes. Where are you?

Here we go again... builders in Columbus, OH?

Thanks for the heads up. Seems like a tall order to be able to run an interstate on top of US23 south of Delaware-- both from having room to do it, and battling all the existing residents. She's starting at the U in August, professor at Fisher. As for me... I've been (early) retired for a...

Here we go again... builders in Columbus, OH?

We've spent a little bit of time in Columbus and have a few friends there. Our daughter lives in Indy, so over the last few months with visiting her and some other business in Columbus, we've been able to dedicate a few days to driving all around the area to get a good feel for it, and look at a...

Here we go again... builders in Columbus, OH?

At this point we are considering a pretty wide area. Desire to have enough land for a pole barn pretty much mean it will be outside of I270, and wanting to keep wife's commute to OSU reasonable has our outer perimeter around Delaware, Sunbury, Etna, Canal Winchester, West Jefferson, etc. My...

Here we go again... builders in Columbus, OH?

Well, 15 years after building my 36x48 pole barn in Southeast PA (https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/threads/design-input-wanted-new-pole-barn-build.68181/post-1622492) it looks like we are headed to Columbus, OH and likely starting on another building project. We have started house shopping...

Help me pick a service cart

Mine will take a 7" tall handle and just over 24" below the handle before it hits the bottom. Where it would hit is a single wall, so you could put a hole in it to allow it to go further. Regarding the lower shelf, unless you are really tight for space, just get a cheap 2 shelf cart to go along...

Help me pick a service cart

I have a Matco MCS4 and it holds some pretty sizable prybars. The right rear part of the screwdriver holes (there is a row on both sides) is extra deep. Pic below from Matco's website, you can see the extra deep part. The Matco box is made by Sunex. Whatever you get, go for the full-drawer...

Matco and Sunex 6 drawer carts

Old thread, but hoping someone found the slides. I have a Matco MSC4 and needed a pair of drawer slides. Called them and they had them (RSRBS) for about $50 a pair which seemed reasonable. When I got them, they were wrong and Matco can't seem to figure out why. The correct one has one horizontal...
