Need help understanding Brass vs Rubber compression fittings used on Air Compressors

I was just in the garage checking on the material that you see in the picture above, its Teflon tape and it appears the entire check valve is bottomed out and the Teflon tape is oozing from the sides.

Need help understanding Brass vs Rubber compression fittings used on Air Compressors

Tired to remove the check valve just now and there is no give with a 2 ft breaker bar, looks like I may be using a 1/2" impact. Only other time I had to use an impact on a appliance is to remove a anode rod from a WH.

That one way valve top is 3/8" for a 1/2" OD copper pipe, the SAE flared male fitting in the picture is for a 1/2" OD pipe as well. I'm hoping I can ditch the compression fittings and have all my copper tubing be flared.

Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a conversion fitting from Compression female to Flared male end? In the 1st image I have the one way valve on top of the 60 gallon tank showing the compression end while the 2nd photo I placed a flared fitting to illustrate my inquiry.

    37 degree flare tools?

JIC is what came on the transmission cooler, I'm doing the Aftercooler setup on my 60 Gallon Air compressor and the two male fittings on the cooler from Ebay are 08 JIC with 37 Degree angle. All my other fittings will be 1/2" SAE Flares made of brass. I was thinking since using soft copper and...

    37 degree flare tools?

Resurrecting an old post, but I'm looking to get an answer to the following. I'm looking to flare two JIC 08 fittings on a 3/8" soft copper line (1/2" OD ) but only have the SAE flaring tool set. Can SAE flaring tool (45*) be used to flare Soft Type L copper tubing and and let the JIC fittings...

I have two compressors that have this same setup, brass on top rubber in the one way check valve compression fitting. To Bills point bottom of the copper tube needs a way to absorb vibration, prevent air leaks and withstand high temperatures.

Here are some more pictures of the rubber ferrule that's nearly gone at the bottom of the 1/2" copper pipe. It's essentially compression fitting without the brass ferrule.

Need help understanding Brass vs Rubber compression fittings used on Air Compressors

I have a 60 Gallon Kobalt air compression and I'm in the process of servicing the unit and noticed that there are two styles of compression ferrules that are sealing the main copper pipe between the compressor pump and the 60 gallon tank. The compression ferrule on the compressor side is made of...
