Solvent parts washer foam sponge? Also suggest fluid suggestions?

I recently acquired a used Graymills parts washer that I would like to put to use and have started the lovely process of cleaning it. (PL36-A model) It is a well made unit with a seemingly good pump that needs a little TLC. I have drained and saved about 4 gallons of fluid. I think the...

Which 1/4” impact bits are you all using?

I've had good luck with Milwaukee. I keep a lot of cheap "junk" around and use it/lose it also.

    Electric ratchet: worth it?

I have M12, Dewalt 12, and SO 14.4 ratchets. I use at least one of them daily and like them all. Favorite and most used is probably snappy 1/4" long neck. However, highly recommend M12 anything in your budget. Good value. Very useful and time saving tool. If you don't need to save time...

How to buy a water heater anode rod

I think it is a good idea to flush out sediment and replace anode rods periodically. I just swap out the whole unit when its about 30 years old and when the tank starts leaking. :eek2:

    Plastic rivet tool

Following. I typically always replace these with a "proper" reusable push type or Christmas tree clip. In instances where they don't fit or look nice, I have used a conventional rivet gun but doesn't work the best.

Existing T12 8' Shop Lighting Upgrade?

What kind of LED tubes did you end up going with? Do you recall how many lumens? Happy with the light they put off vs florescent? I do plan on adding additional fixtures someday, especially at the front of bays under doors. This is often where i find myself working on something. I really...

Existing T12 8' Shop Lighting Upgrade?

Those look awesome. Expensive. Roughly $1,000 more than the ballast-bypass tubes I had in mind to do all. "Lighting is a bit inadequate IMO. I would like it to be brighter" They are. The whole building is darker than I would like at night. (It does have windows that let in a fair amount...

Existing T12 8' Shop Lighting Upgrade?

Shop is roughly 32'x48' and currently has 2 rows of 4 - 8' double T12 110W bulbs. 13.5' ceiling. Lighting is a bit inadequate IMO. I would like it to be brighter and have the existing fixtures to work with. There is a separate workbench light with an additional identical 8' fixture. I plan...

    Fuel oil tank leak

I wish I could give you an oil tank. I have 2 in MN, excellent condition. In my old house, I retired an ancient oil furnace and switched to available natural gas years ago. That indoor tank is still sitting there in excellent condition with a very small amount of fuel in bottom, guessing 70+...

Air vs. battery - I guess I'm old school, no more

Get yourself a battery 1/4" ratchet. I love mine. I still grab my sealed head 1/4 MAC for messy jobs, such as transmission pan removal.

    Triple square set recommendations

+1 for VIM. I own several random brands: good value with VIM. I've had an old Mac Tools set for years that I go to for warranty reasons. I seem to break them fairly often on crusty suspension stuff.
