best 12" sliding bevel miter saw

I have the Bosch GCM12SD, and love it. Is it the BEST? IDK. I got it because of the glider system so I could put it closer to a wall. I do wish it had a light system like the Dewalt does though. When I get around to it, I'll retrofit some kind of LED system onto it. It's also a heavy pain in...

    Tig Welder for welding aluminum

How much do you want to spend? That's going to really narrow down the search. As already mentioned a bunch of members have had good experiences with the Alpha Tig, for much much cheaper than any of the blue team machines. Yesterday I was doing a little aluminum work on our Dynasty 350, so...

I dont know of any that use D cells, there are some options that use AAs though. I already use dewalt cordless tools so even though this is the only 12V tool I have, at least I can use all the same chargers.

    Miter Saw - newbie

Great! I have a Bosch GCM-12SD on a GTA3800 and couldn't be happier with the setup. Keep an eye on Acme Tool, they will occasionally have pretty good deals on this stand. Enjoy your new saw.

I'm not sure what brand that pic is, but I have a Snap-On FC72 3/8th drive in a 1/4 drive body, and it's my favorite ratchet.

    Concerning Milwaukee battery speculation

If you'll allow me to speculate wildly, I'd say that it's probably a new higher voltage line like dewalts 60V line. 36V or 72V would seem the most likely. Very interesting though, I'll have to keep my eyes on this.

    Aluminum TIG Welders

Hun, I just looked up that welder, seems like a hell of a steal! I have access to a Miller Dynasty 350 with a cooler at work and always kinda wanted to buy a smaller Dynasty like the 210DX for myself, but at that price point, I'm rethinking that! EDIT: The Dynasty 350 I convinced the boss we...

    Let's see your toolbox.

Thank you! I'm 5'11" and it can get tricky sometimes. I try to keep the stuff that I dont use very much up there, ignition wrenches and hex keys. I have white boy hops :rocker: Pic Thread: When I was younger I thought it was a great idea to cut out foam inserts for all of the sockets. Makes...

New Tool Day! Miller Maxstar Welder

Nice! Someday I'd love to add a Tig welder to my garage. I used to do a lot of welding in college, I kinda miss it.

I think my M18 batteries are circling the drain

I have 3 Dewalt 18V batteries that are still alive and kicking after about 10 years or so. Honestly I would be a little disappointed in a 7 year life.

Tig tungsten, which or what to buy for size and material?

I like 2% Lanthanated for stainless and 2% Ceriated for aluminum. I would get both in 1/16 and 3/32. That will do damn near everything you will ever want to do.

Century 100 Gasless Wire Feed Welder

Personally I'd stay away from any flux core specific welders. Save a little money and get something that can be used with a shielding gas.

Milwaukee tool expanding - creating more jobs in the USA

I'm also an engineer, and our manufacturing facility is ~50ft from my desk. The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive.
