    Between 705 & 1200 SQ/FT Mixed Grill - From London , England - GRIZZMAKES world

This may be a silly question, but as someone that has never smoked I'm interested to see so many variations, but does the shape/material of the pipe have any effect on the enjoyment/taste of the tobacco? i.e. if you used the same tobacco in each pipe then would any of them do anything different...

    31x58 UK barn conversion

I thought I'd post up some close up pictures of the storage units that I have in the workshop area. I have five of these stainless steel cabinets mounted up on the wall: They allow me to hide away most of my everyday use stuff - one has all my polishes, waxes and car cleaning products in it...

He converted it to dollars for our across-the-pond friends but left the £ rather than the $ sign on it methinks!

    31x58 UK barn conversion

The foundations seem good and generally it seems pretty solid, with a blockwork structure but outer wooden weatherboard cladding for the more 'classic' look. It is not actually very old - maybe 20-25 years old I guess. There are a few leaks in the roof but I know where to place the buckets to...

    31x58 UK barn conversion

I don't stick the daily driver in the garage (in fact I'm on my bicycle most days, so technically don't have a daily driver, but my wife uses a car most days, which is just left outside in all weathers) so don't have the same problem and often we leave the gates open all day but getting an...

    The cheap garage.

Lovely shot of the Pikes Peak car - that's what I call art! What car is the old Moto Lita wheel off?

Glad you had a good day - it was a cold one to be out and about! I was surprised to find everything covered in snow when I awoke this morning and it snowed throughout the morning in this part of Essex.

    dubber's single

Crikey, that sounds like a lot! My compressor is 'only' 3hp and that needs a special 20A feed into the fuse box as it draws too much current to power it from a normal mains socket. A 4 hp vac is going to **** the carpets out of you car? That cabinet was definitely a bargain and looks...

Ah, at least I feel better now. I bought a digital SLR over a dozen years ago but have yet to take anything that has that sort of quality. I never thought of that - I might give it a try and see what comes my way!

Here's a picture of the new door taken from the inside. You can see that the roller is all boxed in when raised now - looks pretty neat and tidy. I guess it helps prevents any rain that might be on the outside of the door dripping into the garage when you have raised it.

Small UK workshop in Surrey BIG PLANS!!

Apart from your time and about £20 for a ten litre tub of white paint you've got nothing much to lose - if it isn't up to your standards once done then you can still stick the plasterboard over the top of it then ;)

Wow, that's a stunning bird box Grizz. Love it. Those shots of the blue **** are amazing too, like pro shots - I presume you have a good SLR/lens? We are lucky enough to have some woodpeckers, moor hens and a heron (less lucky as it is after our fish, but they are lovely looking birds) living...

Small UK workshop in Surrey BIG PLANS!!

Sounds like a good plan. You may find it is not worth the bother of plasterboarding the walls - have a look around at other garages on here as a lot of them look good with just painted brick/blockwork. Plasterboard becomes a good idea if you are adding an insulating layer behind, so it depends...

Yes, they have been pressure treated. Also I have painted the outside of them with a couple of coats of black wood preservative/stain, and will do a couple more coats before the weatherboard goes over the top of them. They should be very unappealing to woodworm! Since they are intended to be...

    31x58 UK barn conversion

Thanks Omphaloskeptic - that has spurred me on to continue the battle with renewed vigour! The other issue I had with the barn was that the roller door in the garage section was quite old and worn. You can see it on the right in the earlier pictures and the alumin(i)um colour didn't really...

Looking forward to that. Oh yes, I hadn't noticed that earlier. Looks great - I have an engine cover on the wall of my garage too :)

Finished project garage: photos of current condition

Welcome back. Glad that the thread was resurrected as I'm fairly new around here and probably never would have got around to seeing it otherwise. It looks great!

    Carguy's toy garage

Love the big truck ('semi' in US speak?). What fun I would have with that if I had one to take my cars to the track! How many cars can it fit inside one of those? The engine on the Chevy does look lovely. Is that how they would have come from the factory or is the restoration style there to...
