    Car mat cleaning life hack

Pressure washer is cold water, dishwasher is very hot water. Also… preheat a turkey before thanksgiving in the dishwater. Can just put it on rinse (no detergent). Yes, I’ve done it and got the idea from my grandfather.

How much land do you need to not have "visible" neighbors?

It seems that everyone has different experiences. In my experience, seeing is one thing but “hearing” is another. I don’t mind seeing my neighbors but would rather not always hear them. We moved from a small lot in the city suburbs into a county 1.6 acre lot. We have a lot of neighbors and...

^^^^understood. My thoughts are more in the mindset of, as you walk the fence line/property if a hunter is there uninvited (and knows it), they’ll prob leave and not return if they think you’re regularly present. If a hunter who is being honest, will admit their mistake and ask how to make it...

Is this normal for new concrete driveway?

I’m NOT a concrete guy, so this could be completely wrong info: If the surface is bad, make sure you get it sealed before winter. Those micro cracks will attract water, water freezes, concrete breaks. Rinse. Freeze. Repeat. Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong.

Ever do something so stupid you wonder if you should be left unsupervised?

I am certain there are a lot of people that do not have the ability to think through a process, much less process “what could go wrong” in order to implement safety. ~ (not) Charles Darwin

Besides sockets, ratchets what are other must have tool for auto use in your tool box

I don’t get excited about tools. But using this hose clamp tool makes me excited. The amount of time and frustration it saved working on OEM hose clamps… is well worth the price.

Getting Kids Interested in the Garage/Tinkering/Fixing/Wrenching

Personally, I don’t think this is the panacea we think it can be. Life is different and in one reality, those kids playing games will be the technicians in 10,20,30 years repairing things that aren’t always mechanical. Not everyone will be interested in things that are interesting to you. Our...

    Welding Setup?

Add a fire extinguisher. There’s nothing wrong with multi purpose tools. Maybe, put a metal top on an out feed table with welding tools under it. Cover other surfaces or fire prone areas w the fiberglass tarps. Usually the first project is a welding cart to hold all the tools. Modify the cart...

Seeking comments on the quote I received for parking pad.

It looks like there is a vehicle to the left. I assume you are standing on your current driveway, and the pad will be close to or adjacent with your current home/driveway. If that’s the case you might have an easier time getting approved. Where a problem might arise is if you want to build...
