What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Took the Corvette out in the early morning fog to get it aligned. I got it back about an hour ago and the immense joy I feel right is immeasurable. It's been since 83 that the car has been safely on the road. Dad did a bulk of the work before he passed in '06, with some help from me and I...

    Spark plug hole from hell!!

Of course, it had to be a plug on the rear bank. Somewhere, Mr. Murphy was laughing. Good job! Fortunately I didn't have that problem when I replaced the plugs on my '08 Odyssey.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got some cotter pins on suspension parts on the Corvette. I also put the license plate on. Not much - I need to torque the leaf spring attach bolts and tighten down the trailing arm bolts before I take it to the alignment shop. As long as it doesn't plan on raining on Thursday, I will try to...

The builder we're working with in Michigan has no problem putting a drain in ether.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Received the historic plates for the Corvette. I think I'll put them on tonight. I just need to find time to get an alignment done. Way too much going on right now. I also had to grab tools to replace a towel bar that my daughter (6) broke after hanging on it. She begged my wife to not...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

What led to it was her asking if she could help me. For a moment I considered dangling her in the engine bay so her small hands could get to the spark plugs easier, but that might look a bit odd to anyone driving by.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Replaced the spark plugs on my Corvette. Also, gave my 6 year old daughter a lesson in the operation of internal combustion engines using sidewalk chalk.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Put the hard top on the Corvette, set the timing and tried to set up the mixture on the carb. I think it's right, but I still need to replace the plugs and recheck things. Yeah, it's a waste of time to most to do it this way, but I look at it this way; I'm not used to doing tune ups on these...

    Growing up with tools.

My (late) father was a jet engine/turboprop/recip mechanic for the Navy (NADEP/NARF Norfolk) and painted cars/did bodywork out of the garage on the weekends. 90% of the tools in my toolbox belonged to him - mainly Proto and Craftsman with a few Snap On thrown in. I have one of the roll arounds...

    Everyday knife??

I only carry Case knives; I carry Case because they're made in the town my father was from (Bradford, PA). I've carried a Russlock for the last 7 or so years and love it.

Winter is coming, what's on your todo list...

I need to get as much done as possible on the exterior of the house to prepare it for sale in the Spring. Over the winter will be doing the same, but on the interior as well as keeping tabs on the construction of the new house.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Sunrise side? My Father in law lives in Harrisville. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the trip to SOS next week. I have a very limited amount of time to do things while my son is in preschool - which will be next week. The insurance company was able to help me out - the Corvette is insured...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Got the Corvette back on the ground after bleeding the brakes. Hunted down and killed a few electrical gremlins. Just a few minutes ago, I took the car around the block to settle the suspension down and all went well. I'm still in a bit of shock that nothing has broken - yet. I'm really...

Determined that the tail light that wasn't operating correctly was due to operator error. When you put the bulb in backwards, it doesn't work properly. :lol_hitti

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

With the help of a neighbor, we got the last suspension bits tied in on the rear of the Corvette. Now I just have to adjust the parking brake, attach the calipers, bleed the lines, finish wiring the rear, and get the new seat belts drilled and bolted in...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Did a little more work on the suspension of my Corvette and cleaned up a little. Still don't have the leaf spring attached, but that will come. My wife looked at me funny last night when I started talking about color schemes for the garage of the new house we're going to be building soon...
